This document provides essential instructions for the installation of the Hinkley 2205DZ LED Wall Mount. Before beginning, ensure the power supply is turned off. The installation process involves three main phases: assembling the fixture, making electrical connections, and sealing the fixture to prevent water ingress.
Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps to assemble the fixture:

- Find a clear area to work and unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
- Prepare the mounting strap (A) by threading the 1-inch nipple (C) into the center hole, approximately 1/4 inch.
- Attach the mounting strap (A) to the junction box (J) using two screws (not provided).
- To assemble the fixture, remove the ball knob (3), lockwasher (4), and screw (5) from the scroll (2).
- Slip the looped end of the scroll (2) through the loop (1) on the top of the fixture assembly.
- Align the hole in the end of the scroll (2) with the hole in the top of the backplate (B).
- Secure the scroll (2) to the fixture by sliding the lockwasher (4) onto the screw (5), inserting it through the hole, and threading on the ball knob (3).
Wiring and Grounding
Electrical connections must be made according to the following guidelines:
- Indoor Fixtures: Connect the positive supply wire (A) to the positive fixture lead (B) and the negative supply wire (C) to the negative fixture lead (D) using appropriately sized twist-on connectors.
- Outdoor Fixtures: Follow the same wiring procedure as indoor fixtures. Additionally, cover the open end of the connectors with silicone sealant to form a watertight seal.
- Grounding: For a 3-wire electrical system, fasten the fixture ground wire (E) to the mounting strap (M) using the ground screw (S). For chain-hung or post-mount fixtures, connect the fixture ground wire directly to the building system ground wire.
Weatherproofing and Caulking
To ensure the fixture is weather-resistant, especially for outdoor installations, follow these sealing instructions:

- After securing the fixture to the wall, seal the gap between the mounting top and the fixture base with a good quality waterproof caulk or silicone sealant.
- It is recommended to apply a small bead of caulk or sealant under the ball knobs used to mount the fixture.
- For wall-mount fixtures, seal the gaps between the fixture backplate and the wall on the top and both sides to prevent water from entering the outlet box.
