This document provides essential mounting instructions for the HORI HPC-044 Force Feedback Truck Control System. Please note that the steering wheel stand and M6 screws are sold separately. Always ensure you use the correct bolt length based on the thickness of your mounting surface to avoid damaging the internal components of the units.
Steering Wheel Unit Installation
The steering wheel unit is designed to be attached to a racing cockpit compatible with M6 bolts. You will need two M6 bolts for installation.
- Bolt Length Calculation: The required length of the M6 bolt is the thickness of your fixed surface plus 10 mm to 25 mm.
- Warning: Using bolts that are too long may damage the inside of the product or prevent proper attachment.
Shifter Unit Installation
The shifter unit also requires two M6 bolts for attachment to a compatible racing cockpit.
- Bolt Length Calculation: The required length of the M6 bolt is the thickness of your fixed surface plus 10 mm to 23 mm.
- Warning: Ensure the bolt length is within the specified range to avoid internal damage.
Clamp Attachment
The racing wheel can be attached to a hard surface using the clamp attachment.
- Surface Thickness: The surface must be between 6 mm and 45 mm thick.
- Limitation: The product will not attach properly to surfaces that fall outside of the 6 mm to 45 mm range.
Foot Pedals Installation
The foot pedal unit attaches to a racing cockpit using M6 bolts.
- Bolt Length Calculation: The required length of the M6 bolt is the thickness of your fixed surface plus 10 mm to 32 mm (0.39 in to 1.25 in).
- Warning: Using wider or incorrect length bolts may cause damage to the product.

Common problems
Bolt length is incorrect
Ensure the bolt length is exactly the thickness of your mounting surface plus the specified clearance (10-25mm for wheel, 10-23mm for shifter, 10-32mm for pedals). Using bolts that are too long can damage the internal mechanism.
Clamp will not attach
Verify that your mounting surface thickness is between 6mm and 45mm. The clamp is not compatible with surfaces outside this range.
Before use
- Purchase M6 bolts separately, as they are not included.
- Measure the thickness of your cockpit mounting plate or desk surface.
- Calculate the required bolt length based on the specific unit (Wheel, Shifter, or Pedals).
