Quick Guide from the Manual

The Losi 22S No Prep Drag is a 1/10 scale 2WD Ready-to-Run (RTR) vehicle. Before operating, ensure you have read all safety precautions. The vehicle requires a charged battery and 4 AA batteries for the transmitter. Always power on the transmitter before the vehicle and power it off after the vehicle has been powered off.

Setup and Installation

Battery Installation: Ensure the ESC is powered off. Remove body clips to access the battery compartment. Secure the battery using the elastomer straps and connect it to the ESC, ensuring correct polarity.

Transmitter Functions: The included Spektrum SLT3 transmitter features throttle and steering trim, throttle limit (50/75/100%), and servo reversing switches. The LED indicates power status (solid red) or low battery voltage (flashing red).

Binding: To bind the receiver to the transmitter, press and hold the bind button on the receiver while powering it on. Power on the transmitter and wait for the connection to be established.

ESC and Motor

ESC Calibration: The Spektrum Firma 100A ESC must be calibrated for neutral, full throttle, and full brake positions. Use the SET button on the ESC switch to enter calibration mode and follow the LED flash sequences.

Gearing and Gear Mesh: The gear mesh is set at the factory but may need adjustment when changing gears. Ensure there is a small amount of movement between the pinion and spur gear. Do not allow the ESC or motor to exceed 160°F (71°C).

Maintenance

Wet Conditions: While the vehicle is water-resistant, it is not waterproof. After running in wet conditions, drain water from tires, dry the battery contacts, and spray metal parts with a water-displacing light oil. Do not use a pressure washer.

Troubleshooting

If the vehicle does not operate, check the battery charge, ESC switch position, and transmitter batteries. If the motor runs but wheels do not rotate, check the pinion/spur gear mesh and ensure the pinion gear setscrew is tight.

Common problems

Vehicle does not operate

Check if the battery is charged and plugged in, the ESC switch is ON, and the transmitter is ON with fresh batteries.

Motor runs but wheels do not rotate

Check pinion/spur mesh, tighten the pinion gear setscrew on the motor shaft flat spot, or check for stripped transmission gears.

ESC gets hot

Use a smaller pinion or larger spur gear to lower the gear ratio; check for driveline binding.

Steering does not work

Ensure the steering servo plug is connected to the receiver correctly and check for damaged servo gears.
