The Traxxas Nissan 240SX Drift Car is a high-performance RC vehicle. To get started, ensure you have a compatible battery pack (NiMH or 2S LiPo) and 4 AA batteries for the transmitter. Always turn the transmitter on first and off last to prevent loss of control. Follow the Quick Start guide on page 9 for the essential steps to get your model running.

Safety Precautions
- Battery Safety: Never use NiMH chargers for LiPo batteries. Always use a Traxxas iD charger for Traxxas iD batteries.
- Thermal Protection: The ESC and motor can become hot. Allow the model to cool between runs.
- Radio Safety: Do not cut or kink the receiver antenna. Always maintain a safety margin around the model.
- Wet Conditions: While water-resistant, the model is not waterproof. Additional maintenance is required after running in wet conditions.
Radio System (TQi 2.4GHz)
The TQi radio system is pre-bound at the factory. If you need to re-bind, follow the instructions on page 16. The transmitter features a Multi-Function knob that can be customized to control steering sensitivity, throttle sensitivity, steering percentage, or braking percentage.

Electronic Speed Control (ESC)
The XL-5 ESC is equipped with Low-Voltage Detection for LiPo batteries. Ensure this is activated when using LiPo packs. The ESC offers three profiles: Sport (100% Forward/Brake/Reverse), Race (100% Forward/Brake, No Reverse), and Training (50% Forward/Reverse, 100% Brake).

Drifting Performance
Drifting requires practice. Use small, smooth inputs. The TSM (Traxxas Stability Management) system helps maintain drift angles. Experiment with the Multi-Function knob to adjust steering angle and sensitivity to suit your driving style.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dirt.
- Gear Mesh: Inspect the spur gear and pinion gear regularly. Use the provided chart to ensure correct gear mesh.
- Shocks: Keep oil levels full using 100% pure silicone shock oil.
- Storage: Always disconnect and remove the battery when storing the model.
