This manual covers the operation and maintenance of the Husqvarna LC 140P and LC 140SP lawnmowers. The LC 140P is a push model, while the LC 140SP features a transmission for self-propulsion. Before operating, ensure you have read the safety chapter, checked the oil and fuel levels, and cleared the work area of debris.

Safety information

• General: Always keep the product clean and ensure labels are legible. Do not allow children or untrained persons to operate the mower.
• Work Area: Remove objects like branches, stones, and wires from the lawn before mowing. Keep people and animals at a safe distance.
• Operation: Do not operate on slopes steeper than 15 degrees. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including sturdy shoes and long trousers.
• Fuel Safety: Handle fuel outdoors. Do not smoke or place hot objects near fuel. Allow the engine to cool before refueling.

Assembly

Handle assembly

1. Insert the screw through the handle, plastic washer, and handle support. Tighten the nut completely.
2. Align the holes on the upper and lower handle sections and secure them with screws, washers, and knobs.
3. Ensure cables are not over-tensioned to prevent damage.

Grass catcher assembly

1. Attach the upper part of the grass catcher to the lower part.
2. Secure the frame with clips.
3. Lift the rear cover and attach the hooks of the grass catcher to the top edge of the chassis.

Operation

Before use

• Check the oil level (use SAE 30 or SAE 10W-40).
• Fill the fuel tank with gasoline (minimum 91 octane).
• Ensure the spark plug cable is connected.

Starting the engine

1. Stand behind the product.
2. Hold the engine brake handle against the handlebar.
3. Pull the starter rope handle until resistance is felt, then pull with force to start the engine.

Transmission (LC 140SP only)

Push the transmission bar toward the handlebar to engage the drive. Release it to disengage the drive before pulling the mower backward.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential for product longevity and safety.

• General Inspection: Check daily that all nuts and screws are tight.
• Oil: Check oil level daily. Change oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours.
• Air Filter: Clean daily if operating in dusty conditions; replace annually.
• Blade: Inspect the cutting equipment for damage or dullness. If the blade hits an obstacle, stop the engine and inspect the blade.
• Spark Plug: Inspect and clean or replace annually.

Troubleshooting

If the engine does not start, check the spark plug connection, fuel level, and fuel quality. If the engine stops unexpectedly, check the stop mechanism. If the engine runs poorly, inspect the air filter and fuel system. For persistent issues, contact an authorized Husqvarna service center.
