Quick Guide

This controller is designed for 4-wire PWM fans. It features a 3-digit LED display for temperature and speed. Key operations involve using the +, -, and OK buttons to navigate menus and set temperature thresholds (L**, H**, C**) and PWM time sequences.

Description and Features

The device is a dedicated controller for 4-wire fans, supporting 100% PWM speed control. It includes a power-off parameter memory function and supports low-temperature shutdown for fans drawing up to 3A.

Technical Parameters

  • Working Voltage: DC 12V
  • Drive Current: <3.5A
  • PWM Range: 1%~100%
  • PWM Frequency: 25KHz
  • Temperature Range: -9.9°C to 99.9°C
  • Sensor: NTC 10K B=3590 (40cm length)
  • Module Size: 60 x 29 x 21mm

Button Operation

The controller operates in a Normal Running State and a Parameter Set State.

  • + Button: Switches display parameters in normal mode; increases values in set mode.
  • - Button: Switches display parameters in normal mode; decreases values in set mode.
  • OK Button:
    • Set PWM: Short press in normal mode to enter PWM setting. Adjust with +/-, then short press OK to save.
    • Set Temperature: Keep pressed for 2 seconds to enter temperature settings. Short press OK to cycle through L**, H**, and C**. Adjust with +/-, then short press OK to save.
    • PWM Time Sequence: Keep OK pressed while turning on the power to enter sequence mode. Select P1 (Forward) or P-1 (Reverse) using +/- buttons, then press OK to save.

Temperature Parameter Settings

The controller uses three main temperature parameters:

  • L** (Accelerated Temperature): Range 5-94. PWM output increases when the measured temperature exceeds this value.
  • H** (Full Speed Temperature): Range 10-99. PWM output is fixed at 100% when temperature exceeds this value.
  • C** (Shutdown Temperature): Range 0-92. If set to 0, the function is disabled. If set >0, the fan shuts down when the temperature drops below this value.

Important Notes: The program will automatically adjust parameters if the difference between L** and H** is less than 5, or if the difference between L** and C** is less than 2.

Application and Package

Suitable for industrial automation, CNC machines, and CPU/Server host cooling. The package includes the controller module and one 40cm NTC 10K temperature sensor.

Practical help

Common problems

Fan does not shut down at low temperatures.

Ensure the 'C**' (Shutdown Temperature) parameter is set to a value greater than 0. If set to 'C00', the function is disabled.

Parameters are automatically changing.

The system enforces minimum differences between settings. Ensure the difference between L** and H** is at least 5, and between L** and C** is at least 2.

Fan speed is not behaving as expected.

Check the PWM Time Sequence setting. P1 is for Forward output (default), while P-1 is for Reverse PWM output.

Before use

  • Verify the power supply is DC 12V.
  • Ensure the fan is a 4-wire PWM compatible fan.
  • Check that the NTC 10K B=3590 sensor is properly connected.
  • Confirm the fan current draw is less than 3.5A.

Specs in practice

L** (Accelerated Temperature)
The temperature threshold where the fan starts increasing speed.
H** (Full Speed Temperature)
The temperature threshold where the fan runs at 100% speed.
C** (Shutdown Temperature)
The temperature threshold below which the fan turns off.

Model compatibility

  • Requires 4-wire PWM fans.
  • Compatible with NTC 10K B=3590 sensors only.
