Quick guide from the manual

The Leviton Smart Ceiling Mount Room Controller (SRC) is a self-contained lighting control solution. All configuration is performed wirelessly using the Leviton Smart Sensor App on an iOS or Android device. The device supports occupancy/vacancy sensing, 0-10V dimming, and daylight harvesting. For installation, ensure the junction box is a standard 4-inch square or octagon box. For dual relay models, both lines must be fed from the same phase.

Product Overview

The SRC series offers high-performance room configuration in a single device. Key features include:

  • Occupancy/Vacancy Sensing: Available in PIR (Passive Infrared) or Multi-Tech (PIR + Ultrasonic) models.
  • Daylight Harvesting: Includes AutoCal feature for automatic calibration and two light pipes (angled and flat) for different applications.
  • Emergency Lighting: UL924 listed; can be connected to a Building Management System (BMS) or contact closure to force lights ON.
  • Wireless Networking: Up to five controllers can be networked to expand coverage.

Installation

The controller is designed for easy installation into junction boxes. Use the Leviton-exclusive screw guides and terminal blocks. The front cover snaps on and off. If using a 4-inch square junction box, a mud ring is required. The front cover is paintable, provided the sensor is properly masked during the process.

Wiring

The controller supports both single and dual relay configurations. For dual relay models (ACY15-DIW and ACY20-DMW), ensure that both lines are fed from the same phase. The 0-10V dimming control runs as Class 1 or Class 2 per NEC standards.

Configuration via Smart Sensor App

Download the Smart Sensor App to your smartphone or tablet to pair with the SRC via Bluetooth. The app allows you to:

  • Create custom templates for multi-room replication.
  • Set occupancy sensor time-outs and sensitivity.
  • Configure daylight harvesting settings (open loop/closed loop).
  • Initiate field-of-view walk tests.
  • Perform Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates.
  • Reset the device to factory defaults.

Daylight Harvesting

The system includes two light pipes for different daylighting strategies:

  • Open Loop: Use the angled light pipe, mounted within 4 feet of a window.
  • Closed Loop: Use the flat light pipe (mounted 6-8 feet from the window) or the angled light pipe (mounted 12 feet from the window, angled toward the work surface).

Technical Specifications

The controller operates on 120V or 277V (50/60Hz). It supports 0-10V sinking up to 50mA. The operating temperature range is 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C) with 0-90% non-condensing relative humidity. The Bluetooth range is approximately 50 feet.

Practical help

Common problems

False ON/OFF triggers

Adjust PIR or Ultrasonic sensitivity independently using the Smart Sensor App.

Emergency lighting not activating

Ensure the BMS or contact closure is correctly connected to the controller to force lights ON.

Daylight harvesting not accurate

Use the AutoCal feature in the app to calibrate the photocell or manually adjust the DDL set point.

Before use

  • Download the Leviton Smart Sensor App on your iOS or Android device.
  • Verify the junction box is a standard 4-inch square or octagon box.
  • Ensure the line voltage (120V or 277V) matches the controller model.
  • For dual relay models, confirm both lines are fed from the same phase.
  • Ensure the correct light pipe (angled or flat) is installed based on your daylighting strategy.

Specs in practice

0-10V Dimming
Standard control signal for LED drivers and electronic ballasts.
PIR vs Multi-Tech
PIR detects infrared heat; Multi-Tech adds ultrasonic sensing for minor motion detection.

Model compatibility

  • Compatible with PLVSW Low Voltage Keypads and SBK00 Wireless Switch/Dimmer.
  • Requires Smart Sensor App for all configuration.
  • UL924 listed for emergency lighting applications.
