Quick guide from the manual
This document provides installation instructions for gas piping kits designed for LG/LD/KG/KD 024-300S packaged gas units. Warning: Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, or maintenance can cause property damage, personal injury, or loss of life. Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or the gas supplier.
Application and Compatibility
The gas piping kit is compatible with specific LG/LD/KG/KD units. Refer to the following table to identify the correct kit for your unit:
- LB-95299A: LG/LD 036-072
- LB-95299H: KG/KD 024-072
- LB-95299B, F: LG/LD 078-150
- LB-95299C, G: LG/LD 156-300S
Installation Requirements
Before connecting the piping, verify local code requirements with your gas company or local authorities. When installing the gas supply piping, consider the length of the run from the gas meter to determine the correct pipe size for a 0.5" w.c. (0.12kPa) maximum pressure drop. Do not use a supply pipe smaller than the unit gas connection.

Operating Pressure Specifications
Ensure the operating pressure at the unit gas connection meets the following requirements:
- Natural Gas (024-072 units): Minimum 4.5" w.c. (1.19kPa)
- Natural Gas (090-300S units): Minimum 4.7" w.c. (1.17kPa)
- Natural Gas (All units): Maximum 10.5" w.c. (2.60kPa)
- LP/Propane Gas: Minimum 11" w.c. (2.74kPa) to Maximum 13.0" w.c. (3.24kPa)
Compounds used on threaded joints of gas piping must be resistant to the action of liquified petroleum gases.
Installation Procedure
- Ensure all power and gas supply to the unit are turned off.
- Assemble the gas piping as shown in the appropriate figure for your specific unit model.
- Use the installation instructions provided with the unit for pressure and leak testing of the gas piping and unit start-up.

Common problems
Ensure natural gas pressure is between 4.5"-10.5" w.c. or LP/propane pressure is between 11"-13" w.c. at the unit connection.
Consider the length of the run from the gas meter when determining pipe size to maintain a maximum 0.5" w.c. pressure drop.
Do not use a supply pipe smaller than the unit gas connection.
Before use
- Verify the kit model matches your unit (LG/LD/KG/KD 024-300S).
- Check local gas code requirements.
- Ensure power and gas supply to the unit are completely off.
- Verify all components from the shipping list are present.
- Use thread compounds resistant to liquified petroleum gases.
Specs in practice
- Natural Gas Pressure (024-072)
- Minimum 4.5" w.c. (1.19kPa) required.
- Natural Gas Pressure (090-300S)
- Minimum 4.7" w.c. (1.17kPa) required.
- LP/Propane Pressure
- Must be between 11" and 13" w.c. (2.74-3.24kPa).
Images and diagrams
- Figures 1-4 provide specific assembly diagrams for different unit models.
