The MegaStar 20K Kit is a portable, high-powered LED lighting system designed for crime scene lighting and similar applications. Key operational points include:

• Charging: Always charge the battery before use until the charger LED shows a constant green light. Note that the battery requires 4-5 charging cycles to reach optimum performance.
• Operation: The unit can be controlled via the switch on the battery pack or the back of the lamp head.
• Modes: Offers three main brightness settings (4000, 10,000, 20,000 lumens) and an ECO mode (2000 lumens) with a flashing option.
• Safety: The tripod sections are air-cushioned to prevent sudden drops. Do not submerge in water or expose to extreme temperatures.

Product Overview

The kit is supplied in a weatherproof bag and includes:

• 1 x Bag
• 1 x Lithium battery pack (18Ah)
• 1 x Light head
• 1 x Air-cushioned tripod
• 1 x Mains charger (2A)
• 1 x Shoulder strap

Assembly and Setup

1. Insert the lamp head into the tripod and secure it.
2. Raise the lamp and tripod by extending the top section first, then proceed to the 2nd and 3rd sections.
3. Always grasp the sliding element firmly before tightening or loosening the securing thumb screw to prevent slipping.
4. Once at the desired height and stable, tighten the lower collars.
5. Attach the power pack to the tripod leg adjuster.
6. Connect the cable lead to the power pack and switch on.
7. Spread the tripod feet to their maximum extent. Excess cable should be neatly coiled within the tripod footprint.
8. The power pack can be hung by the strap onto the 3.5M tripod hand wheel when set to the desired height. Avoid leaving the power pack on the ground.

Operation

Use the switch located on the battery pack or at the back of the MegaStar head:

• Press once: 4000 lumens.
• Press again: 10,000 lumens.
• Press third time: 20,000 lumens (full power).
• Press again: Turn off.
• ECO Mode: When OFF, press and hold for 3 seconds, then release to activate ECO mode (2000 lumens). Press again in ECO mode to activate the flashing light setting. Press a second time to turn off.

Battery Charging

1. Plug the charger into the mains supply and switch on. The charger LED will glow green to indicate mains voltage.
2. Plug the charger into the charging socket of the power pack. The LED will turn RED to indicate charging.
3. The LED will turn green when charging is complete.
4. Do not use chargers other than those provided.

Safety and Maintenance

• Operating Temperature: Charging: 0°C to 45°C / Discharging: -20°C to 60°C.
• General Warnings: Do not expose the battery to excessive heat or short-circuit the terminals. Do not solder directly onto the battery. Keep away from children. Do not shine the light directly into people's eyes.
• Storage: When collapsing the MegaStar, be aware that tripod sections are air-cushioned to prevent sudden drops.

Warranty

All NightSearcher products have a 3-year standard warranty on manufacturing defects and a 1-year warranty on rechargeable batteries from the date of purchase.
