Quick guide from the manual
The One Control LX Tuner with BJF Buffer is a high-precision pedal tuner featuring a switchable BJF buffer circuit. It is designed to provide accurate tuning without degrading the instrument's tone, offering both true bypass and buffered signal paths.
BJF Buffer Operation
The pedal includes a switchable BJF buffer circuit. This allows you to choose between a buffered signal or true bypass, which is useful when using pedals that are sensitive to impedance changes, such as certain vintage-style fuzz effects. Use the ON/OFF switch to engage or disengage the buffer as needed for your specific signal chain.
Display Modes
The tuner offers four distinct display modes to suit different visual preferences and tuning needs:
- A Mode: Standard display mode.
- Strobe Mode: High-precision mode showing pitch changes via meter movement direction and speed.
- Half Strobe Mode: Similar to Strobe mode, optimized for easy pitch discrepancy visualization.
- Regular B Mode: A unique vertical display orientation.
Calibration
You can adjust the reference pitch (A4) to match other instruments or specific tuning requirements. The calibration range is 436 Hz to 445 Hz, adjustable in 1 Hz steps.
Power Supply
The unit can be powered by:
- A standard 9V DC power supply (center negative, 2.1mm barrel).
- A standard 9V battery.
Note: Battery life is approximately 15 hours under continuous use (A4 input, tuner on, Regular A mode, using a zinc-carbon battery).
Technical Specifications
- Detection Range: E0 (20.60 Hz) – C8 (4186 Hz)
- Tuning Accuracy: +/- 0.1 cent

- Weight: 249g
Practical help
Common problems
Use the ON/OFF switch to disengage the BJF buffer circuit, allowing the pedal to function in true bypass mode.
Check that the 9V battery is fresh or that the 9V DC power supply is correctly connected and provides center-negative polarity.
Before use
- Verify the power source is 9V DC center negative.
- Connect your instrument cable to the input.
- Select the preferred display mode (A, Strobe, Half Strobe, or Regular B).
- Adjust the reference pitch (A4) between 436-445 Hz if required for your ensemble.
Specs in practice
- Calibration Range
- Allows adjustment of the reference pitch (A4) from 436Hz to 445Hz in 1Hz steps.
- Detection Range
- The frequency range the tuner can detect, from E0 (20.60 Hz) to C8 (4186 Hz).
- Input Impedance
- 500k Ohm when the BJF Buffer is active; 1M Ohm when the tuner is on without the buffer.
- Current Draw
- Maximum power consumption is 40mA; ensure your power supply can handle this load.
Model compatibility
- Compatible with standard 9V DC center-negative power supplies.
- Suitable for both guitar and bass instruments.
- The BJF buffer is switchable to ensure compatibility with impedance-sensitive effects like vintage fuzz pedals.
