The Reliable Maven 140IS is a home ironing station. Before first use, you must prepare the anti-scale cartridge by immersing it in water for 5 minutes. When using the steam function for the first time, iron an old towel to clear any internal residue. Always use normal tap water; do not add perfume, vinegar, or other liquids.
Safety
Electrical Safety: Always connect to a properly grounded socket. Never leave the appliance unattended while plugged in. Ensure hands are dry when touching switches or plugs.

Scalding Danger: The appliance generates high-temperature steam. Never point steam jets at people, animals, or other appliances. If the steam button is pressed before the boiler reaches the optimum temperature, water may leak from the nozzle. Always allow the unit to cool before cleaning or removing parts.
Children: Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years old. Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
Key Features
- Steam Trigger: Located on the iron handle.
- Soleplate: The heated surface for ironing.
- Carry Lock: Secures the iron to the base for safe transport.
- Water Tank: Removable tank for filling.
- Anti-scale Cartridge: Essential for prolonging the lifespan of the unit.
- Control Panel: Displays temperature settings, steam levels, and maintenance indicators.
Operation
Filling the Water Tank: Disconnect the power cord. Pull out the water tank, open the inlet cover, fill with water to the maximum level, and ensure it is firmly positioned back in place.

Temperature Settings: The iron starts in Auto Mode by default. Press the function button to cycle through temperature settings: Auto Mode, Dot 1, Dot 2, Dot 3, Dot 4, and Max. The temperature symbol will flash while heating and stay steady when ready.
Vertical Steaming: Hold the iron in a vertical position 15 to 30 cm away from the garment and press the steam trigger. Do not apply steam to clothes being worn.
Safety Auto Shut-off: The iron will automatically enter auto shut-off mode if left immobile for 10 minutes. To reactivate, touch and hold the function button for 1 second.
Maintenance
Anti-scale Cartridge: Replace the cartridge when the indicator lights up (recommended every 3 to 6 months). Remove the cover from the new cartridge, immerse it in water for 5 minutes, and insert it into the unit.
Self Cleaning: Perform this at least once a month. Fill the tank, press the function button and steam trigger simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter self-clean mode. Hold the iron over a sink to allow water and deposits to exit through the steam holes.
Draining: Always drain the water tank after use to prevent mineral buildup.
Troubleshooting
If the unit does not work, check if it is plugged in, wait for it to heat up, or ensure the anti-scale cartridge is installed correctly. If there is no steam, ensure the tank is full and the unit has reached the required temperature. Loud noises during initial use are normal as the unit draws water.
