Battery operation

Ryobi 18V lithium-ion battery packs are equipped with protection features to monitor cells and maximize life. The battery may enter sleep mode if completely discharged. To reactivate a battery in sleep mode, place it in the charger for 90 seconds. If the charging process does not begin, remove the battery for 30 seconds and try again. The battery can be used in cold weather down to -10°C; start with light-duty applications to allow the battery to warm up.

Battery maintenance and storage

To ensure maximum battery life, remove the battery from the charger once fully charged. Do not disassemble the battery pack. For storage longer than 30 days, store the battery in a location where the temperature is below 27°C and in a charged condition (30%-50%). After six months of storage, it is recommended to discharge the battery by 10%-20% by running it in a tool, then recharge it.

Safety instructions

Keep battery packs away from metal objects like paper clips, coins, and keys to prevent short circuits. Do not charge the battery in damp or wet locations. If battery leakage occurs, wash skin with soap and water and neutralize with lemon juice or vinegar. If liquid enters the eyes, flush with clean water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention.
