Product Overview
The Sealey 1020LE Series is a 2-tonne low entry short chassis trolley jack designed for professional and home workshop use. It features a heavy-duty chassis with strengthening flanges for torsional rigidity and a profiled lifting arm that allows for a low clearance height of just 85mm, making it ideal for sports and custom vehicles. The unit is equipped with a heavy-duty one-piece hydraulic system with a pump-through action to prevent handle locking at maximum ram extension.

Safety Guidelines
Safety is paramount when operating hydraulic lifting equipment. Always ensure the jack is in good working order and used on a level, solid surface, preferably concrete. Never exceed the rated capacity of 2 tonnes. The jack is intended for lifting only and must not be used to support a load; always use correctly rated axle stands before working under the vehicle. Ensure the vehicle handbrake is engaged, the engine is off, and the wheels are chocked. Keep the working area clear of non-essential persons and ensure the operator has a clear view of the lifting process.
Operation
Before first use, it is essential to purge the hydraulic system of any trapped air. This is done by opening the release valve and pumping the handle approximately 20 times. To lift a vehicle, ensure the saddle is correctly positioned under the manufacturer's recommended lifting point. Close the release valve firmly and pump the handle until the desired height is reached. To lower the vehicle, turn the release valve anti-clockwise very slowly. The descent control mechanism ensures a gradual lowering process.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is required to ensure long-term performance. Keep the jack clean and lubricate all moving parts periodically. Before each use, inspect the unit for any signs of damage, such as cracked, bent, or loose parts. Check the pump piston and ram for corrosion and clean with an oiled cloth. The hydraulic oil should be replaced annually. To check the oil level, fully lower the jack, remove the cover, and check that the level is just below the filler plug. Use only high-quality hydraulic jack oil; never use brake fluid.
Troubleshooting
If the jack fails to lift the load, check the oil level or purge the system of air. If the jack will not hold the load, the discharge valve may be obstructed by dirt, or the ram cup seal may be worn. If the jack does not lower completely, check for a broken return spring or overfilled hydraulic unit. For any internal hydraulic issues, contact a qualified service agent.

Common problems
Check oil level or purge air from the system by pumping the handle with the release valve open.
Release valve may be dirty or ram cup seal worn; contact an approved service agent.
Check for broken return spring, lack of lubrication, or overfilled hydraulic unit.
Before use
- Ensure the jack is on level, solid ground.
- Chock the vehicle wheels.
- Engage the vehicle handbrake.
- Purge air from the hydraulic system.
- Verify the lifting point is stable and centered.
- Ensure no persons are under the vehicle.
- Check for any visible damage or leaks.
Specs in practice
- Minimum Saddle Height
- The lowest point the saddle reaches (85mm), allowing access under low-clearance vehicles.
- Maximum Saddle Height
- The highest point the saddle can reach (385mm).
