The Sealey CP1210 is a cordless 12V mini angle grinder. Note: The battery and charger are not included. This tool requires the Sealey CP1200BP (2.0Ah) or CP1200BP4 (4.0Ah) battery and the CP1200MC battery charger for operation.

Assembly

Discs should only be fitted by a person holding a grinding wheel certificate.

  1. Place the grinding or cutting disc over the spindle and onto the clamping flange.
  2. If using flat cutting discs, screw the disc retaining flange nut onto the spindle.
  3. Push and hold the spindle lock button (fig.1) to stop the spindle from turning.
  4. Tighten the disc retaining flange nut using the supplied Hex key.
  5. Release the locking button and ensure it returns to its initial position.

Operation

Always remove the battery before changing accessories.

Preparation and Starting

  • Ensure the cutting disc and safety guard are correctly fitted.
  • Re-attach the battery.
  • Warning: The grinder will kick upon starting; hold the tool securely with both hands.
  • To start, push the ON/OFF switch forward and down.
  • To stop, press the bottom of the switch.

Grinding Head Alignment

Rotate the grinding head by depressing the spindle locking button and twisting the head to the desired position. Ensure the disc is secure before powering on.

Cutting

  • Do not switch the grinder on while the disc is in contact with the workpiece.
  • Allow the disc to reach full speed before starting the cut.
  • Control pressure and surface contact for effective operation.
  • Allow the workpiece to cool after cutting; do not touch the hot surface.

Maintenance

  • General Inspection: Regularly check that all fixing screws are tight. Repairs must be performed by an authorised service centre.
  • Cleaning: Keep the tool clean to prevent internal wear. Use a soft brush or dry cloth. Never use caustic agents on plastic parts.
  • Lubrication: Lightly lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals with a suitable spray lubricant.
  • Storage: Store in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children.

Safety and Vibration

This tool is subject to vibration testing under the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Prolonged use may cause Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome. Ensure the tool is maintained properly and follow all safety instructions, including wearing appropriate PPE (goggles, ear defenders, dust mask, and gloves).
