User Manual for Sealey LP100.V7 Propane Space Heater

The Sealey LP100.V7 is a variable output propane space heater designed for industrial or public building use. It is not suitable for domestic or residential heating. Key operational requirements include:

• Ventilation: You must provide permanent ventilation of 25cm x 25cm for every kW of output.
• Room Size: The minimum room volume must be larger than 100m³. Do not use in cellars, basements, or below-ground levels.
• Clearance: Maintain at least 3m distance from flammable walls or ceilings.
• Gas Supply: Use only the supplied regulator and hose. If ice forms on the cylinder during use, switch to a larger cylinder or link two cylinders together.
• Air Quality: Do not use in environments with dust (e.g., body shop filler dust) as this will damage the unit and void the warranty.

Safety instructions

Failure to follow safety precautions can result in fire, explosion, asphyxiation, or electric shock.

• Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply is safe. Use an RCD (Residual Current Device). If used for business, perform routine PAT testing. The unit requires a 5A fuse.
• General Safety: Never direct hot air towards the gas cylinder. Never use the heater without its cover. Do not obstruct the air inlet or outlet.
• Gas Leaks: If a leak is suspected, turn off the gas cylinder immediately, switch off the heater, and ventilate the area. Do not create sparks or open flames.
• Vulnerable Persons: Keep children and vulnerable people away from the heater, as parts become very hot.

Operation

Follow these steps to operate the heater safely:

1. Connection: Connect the gas supply hose to the pressure regulator and the regulator to the LPG cylinder using the left-hand threaded nut. Check for leaks using soapy water or an approved leak detector.
2. Power: Connect the unit to the mains power supply.
3. Ignition: Turn the power switch to position 'I' and verify the fan is running. Push the gas valve button and repeatedly press the piezoelectric lighter until the flame ignites.
4. Switching Off: Close the gas cylinder tap first. Allow the fan to run until the flame extinguishes, then turn the fan switch to position 'O'.

Maintenance

Repairs and maintenance must only be performed by qualified personnel.

• Annual Check: The heater must be inspected by a qualified technician at least once a year.
• Cleaning: Keep the fan blade and the interior of the heater clean. Use compressed air if necessary.
• Inspection: Regularly check the condition of the gas hose and regulator. Replace only with genuine spare parts.
• Electrode: Periodically check the starting electrode position to ensure reliable ignition.

Troubleshooting

If the heater fails to operate, check the following:

• Motor does not work: Check the electrical supply and terminal board.
• Burner does not light: Ensure the gas tap is open, the cylinder is not empty, the nozzle is not obstructed, the solenoid valve is functioning, and the electrode is sparking.
• Heater stops during operation: Check for insufficient airflow or ice formation on the cylinder (use a larger or dual cylinder setup).
