The Sealey MS900PS is a variable speed sander/polisher designed for professional use. Important: Always disconnect from the mains power before changing accessories or performing maintenance. When polishing, do not use a speed setting above 3 (2000rpm) to avoid burning through paintwork. Always wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection, ear defenders, and a mask if dust is generated.

Safety Instructions

  • Electrical Safety: Inspect power leads and plugs before use. Do not use damaged cables. Use an RCD (Residual Current Device) with all electrical products.
  • General Safety: Keep the work area clean and tidy. Secure work pieces with a clamp or vice. Do not operate the tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs/alcohol.
  • Lead Paint Warning: If removing old paint that may contain lead, take strict precautions to contain dust and use appropriate respiratory protection.

  • Side Handle: Attach the side handle to either side or the top of the unit to suit your preference.
  • Rubber Pad: Thread the rubber pad onto the shaft. Hold the shaft steady using the locking button (fig.2) and tighten with the provided spanner.
  • Sanding Disc: Peel off the backing of the self-adhesive disc and locate it centrally onto the rubber pad.
  • Polishing Bonnet: Fit the bonnet over the secured rubber pad, pull the cord to tighten, and tie a bow. Tuck the loose ends under the bonnet.

Operation

Ensure the power control switch is not locked on before plugging into the mains. Hold the polisher firmly with both hands (one on the handle grip, one on the side handle). To start, press and hold the safety lock button and squeeze the trigger. Rotate the speed selector switch to choose a speed between 1 and 6 (1400-3000rpm).

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the machine clean and dry. Blow compressed air through side vents to keep motor ventilation clear.
  • Carbon Brushes: Check brushes by removing the side screws (fig.4). If worn or cracked, replace them as a pair using genuine spare parts.
  • Gear Grease: Replace the gear head grease after every 500 hours of use to prevent gear wear.

Tool will not start
