Quick Guide from the Manual

The Skytech 1001TH-A is a battery-operated remote control system designed for gas heating appliances. Before initial use, you must perform the 'Learning' procedure to match the transmitter's security code to the receiver. Ensure the receiver slide switch is set to the REMOTE position for normal operation. The system operates on radio frequencies with a range of approximately 20 feet.

  • ON: Manually turns the unit on.
  • OFF: Manually turns the unit off.
  • MODE: Switches between manual and thermo mode.
  • SET: Used to set the desired temperature in thermo mode.

The LCD displays room temperature, flame status, and set temperature. You can toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius by pressing the ON and OFF keys simultaneously.

Installation

The remote receiver can be wall-mounted or placed on the hearth. Protection from extreme heat is critical; keep the receiver away from temperatures exceeding 130°F.

Wiring Instructions

Millivolt Valves: Connect the TH (thermostat) terminals on the millivolt gas valve to the wire terminals on the remote receiver using 18-gauge wire.

Electronic Spark Ignitions: Connect the remote receiver in series with a 24VAC transformer to the TR (transformer) terminal on the electronic module. Connect the hot wire from the transformer to one receiver terminal, and the other receiver terminal to the TH terminal on the electronic module.

Operation

Manual Function

Press the ON button to ignite the appliance. Press the OFF button to extinguish the flame. The LCD will show ON or OF during signal transmission.

Thermostat Function

To use the thermostat feature, press the MODE button until 'ROOM' appears on the LCD. Press and hold the SET button to adjust the desired temperature (range: 45°F to 99°F). The system will cycle on and off based on the temperature differential (factory set to +/- 2°F).

Childproof (CP) Feature

To lock the transmitter, press and hold the ON and MODE buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. 'CP' will appear on the LCD. Repeat the process to unlock.

Troubleshooting

  • System does not respond: Check that batteries are fresh and installed correctly. Ensure the receiver slide switch is in the REMOTE position. Perform the learning procedure again.
  • Short range: Check batteries. Ensure the receiver is not enclosed in a metal surround, which can block signals.
  • Flame does not ignite: Verify the pilot light is lit. Check all wiring connections for loose wires.

Specifications

  • Operating Frequency: 303.8 MHz
  • Transmitter Batteries: (2) 1.5V AAA
  • Receiver Batteries: (4) 1.5V AA
  • Temperature Range: 45°F to 99°F (6°C to 32°C)
