Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential steps for the installation and initial setup of the Solax Power X1 Series (0.6KW-3.6KW) inverter. Key procedures include wall mounting, PV and AC wiring, communication port setup, and firmware upgrading. Ensure all safety precautions are followed and that the installation is performed by qualified personnel.
Packing List
Before starting, ensure the following items are included in the package:
- Inverter
- Bracket
- Female and Male DC units
- Expansion tubes and self-tapping screws
- Earth terminal
- AC Connector
- Optional: Wi-Fi/LAN dongle
- Documents
Inverter Installation
Follow these steps to mount the inverter securely:

- Unscrew the bracket from the back of the inverter.
- Mark the position of the two holes on the wall.
- Drill holes using a φ6 drill bit to a depth of at least 50mm.
- Insert and tighten the expansion tubes.
- Secure the bracket to the wall using the expansion screws.
- Match the inverter with the bracket and secure it by tightening the cross-recessed screw on the right side.
PV Connection
Proper DC connection is critical for system operation:
- Cable size: 4-6 mm².
- Strip length: 7.0mm.
- Assemble the male and female DC connectors by aligning the two halves.
- Ensure the positive and negative DC pin contacts are correctly crimped and inserted into the respective plugs.
- Tighten the nuts on the connectors to ensure a secure, waterproof connection.
AC Connection
Follow these steps for AC wiring:
- Slide the cable nut and back shell onto the cable.
- Strip the cable according to the specified lengths (52.5mm outer jacket, 6mm wire strip).
- Insert the stripped ends of the three wires into the holes in the female insert.
- Tighten each screw using an L-type wrench.
- Screw down the threaded sleeve and the pressure screw on the top part of the AC terminal.
- Connect the AC plug to the inverter.
Connections and Overview
The inverter features various ports for communication and monitoring:
- Grounding: Use a Φ4 hexagon wrench to secure the ground screw.
- RS485/DRM/Meter: Prepare the communication cable according to the PIN definition provided in the manual. Insert the cable into the corresponding RS485 port and tighten the waterproof connector.
- System Start: After verifying all connections, turn on external DC/AC breakers and the DC switch. The inverter will start automatically when PV panels generate sufficient energy.
Firmware Upgrading
To update the firmware, follow this procedure:
- Download the upgrade program and save it to a USB flash drive.
- Create a new folder named "Update" in the root directory. Inside, create two sub-folders: "ARM" and "DSP".
- Copy the respective firmware files into the ARM and DSP folders. Do not modify the file names.
- Press and hold the "Enter" key for 5 seconds to enter Off Mode.
- Unscrew the waterproof lid on the bottom and insert the USB flash drive into the "DONGLE" port.
- Turn on the switches. Use the "" and "V" keys to select the program, then long-press "V" to confirm and start the upgrade.
- Once complete, remove the USB drive and replace the DONGLE port panel.
Practical help
Common problems
Check that external DC/AC breakers are turned on and that PV panels are generating sufficient energy.
Ensure the USB drive has the correct folder structure (Update/ARM and Update/DSP) and that file names have not been modified.
Verify the PIN definition for the RS485 port and ensure the waterproof connector is tightened correctly.
Before use
- Verify all items from the packing list are present.
- Ensure drill bit size is φ6 and depth is at least 50mm for mounting.
- Check that cable size is 4-6 mm² for PV and AC connections.
- Ensure firmware files are correctly placed on the USB drive before attempting an update.
- Verify all electrical connections are tight and secure.
Specs in practice
- Strip length (PV)
- 7.0mm required for DC cable preparation.
- Torque (Ground)
- 1.5±0.2N.m for the ground screw.
