This document provides instructions for setting up the StarTech 109B-USBC-HDMI adapter. This device allows you to connect two HDMI displays to a single USB-C or USB-A host port and supports USB Power Delivery pass-through to charge your host computer.

Driver Installation

Installation Steps

  1. (Optional) Power Delivery: Connect a USB-C Power Adapter (up to 100W) from an AC outlet to the Power Delivery Pass-through Port on the adapter to charge the host computer. Note: A USB-C port with Power Delivery on the host is required for this feature. PD pass-through is not available when using the USB-A adapter.
  2. Connect Host: Connect the USB Host Connection to an available USB-C or USB-A port on your computer.
  3. Connect Displays: Connect an HDMI cable (sold separately) from HDMI Output 1 to your first HDMI display.
  4. Connect Second Display: Connect an HDMI cable (sold separately) from HDMI Output 2 to your second HDMI display.
  5. Configure: Arrange the display settings using your operating system's Display Settings menu.

Drivers not installing automatically

Contact your IT administrator or download the latest drivers from the StarTech support website.

Power Delivery not charging the host

Ensure the host computer's USB-C port supports Power Delivery. Note that PD pass-through is disabled when using the USB-A adapter.

  • Ensure you have two HDMI cables available for your displays.
  • If charging is required, have a USB-C power adapter ready.
