This Stirling 239L Upright Fridge (STR-H239W) is designed for indoor domestic use. Before first use, ensure the appliance stands upright for at least 4 hours to allow refrigerant gases to settle. After installation, run the unit on the MAX setting for at least 2 hours before adding food.
Installation
Proper installation is critical for efficient operation:
- Clearances: Allow at least 12cm of clear space at the back and 5cm at the sides for proper ventilation.
- Leveling: The fridge must be level to ensure doors and magnetic seals align correctly. Adjust the leveling feet at the base by turning them clockwise to raise or anticlockwise to lower the front.
- Electrical: Plug into a dedicated, properly earthed 220-240V, 50Hz outlet. Do not use extension cords or adaptors.
Temperature control
The temperature control dial is located on the upper right side of the refrigerator compartment. The higher the number (1-7), the colder the temperature. For initial startup, set to 7. After 24-48 hours, adjust to a middle setting (3-4) for general operation.
Fresh food storage
To maintain efficiency, do not overload the fridge and ensure air can circulate freely. Keep vegetables in the crisper drawer and ensure the cover sits firmly. Door racks can be repositioned to accommodate different container sizes.
Maintenance and cleaning
Always disconnect the power before cleaning. Use a solution of 2 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 litre of water for interior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners, steam cleaners, or sharp metal instruments to remove frost. Clean the condenser at the back of the appliance once a year with a soft brush or vacuum attachment.
Reversing the door swing
The door can be reversed to open from either side. This process requires a Phillips head screwdriver, flat-bladed screwdriver, and a hexagonal spanner. It is recommended to have another person assist. Ensure the fridge is empty and disconnected from power before starting.
