The Taramps BOB 120A is an automatic bivolt power supply and charger. Installation must be performed by a qualified professional. Ensure the unit is placed in a firm, ventilated area with at least 20cm of clearance on the sides to avoid obstructing the cooling fan. Never reverse the polarity when connecting to batteries.
Product description
The BOB 120A is a switched power supply with a digital electronic circuit that controls and stabilizes the output. It features automatic bivolt technology, recognizing the AC input voltage (127V or 220V) and adjusting accordingly.

Installation
Install the power supply in a firm and ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Leave a space of 20 centimeters on the sides to ensure proper airflow for the cooler. Use appropriate wiring, with 2.5mm² (13 AWG) recommended for the input.

Operation and controls
The device features the following controls and indicators:

- LED ON: Remains lit as long as the unit is connected to the mains.
- ADJ/VOLTAGE: Allows adjustment of the output voltage from 12V to 15V. For automotive battery recharging, it is recommended to set this close to 13.8V.
- OUT BATTERY: Terminals to connect the negative (-) and positive (+) cables to the battery or 12-volt equipment.
- AC INPUT: Power input for 127V/220V.
- SMART COOLER: The fan operates based on the power supply status (current or temperature).
Safety and protection
The device includes built-in protection mechanisms:
- Short circuit protection: Turns off the output if a short circuit or a load far above the permitted value is detected.
- Temperature protection: Momentarily reduces power if the unit overheats, returning to normal once the temperature decreases.
- General safety: Do not open the unit as it contains no user-serviceable parts and poses a risk of electric shock. Never invert battery polarity.
Technical specifications
The BOB 120A provides a maximum power of 2400W (120A dynamic for 4 seconds) and 900W RMS continuous power. It operates with an automatic bivolt input (127V/220V). The dimensions are 130 x 55 x 232mm, and the weight is 1.36kg.
Practical help
Common problems
The device has detected a short circuit or a load significantly higher than the permitted value. Check your connections and load.
The fan operates based on current and temperature status. It may not run if the unit is cool and under low load.
Use the ADJ/VOLTAGE knob to manually adjust the output voltage between 12V and 15V.
Before use
- Ensure installation is performed by a qualified professional.
- Verify AC voltage is between 90V-140V (127V) or 190V-250V (220V).
- Leave at least 20cm of space on the sides for ventilation.
- Use recommended wiring (2.5mm² / 13 AWG).
- Check battery polarity before connecting to the OUT BATTERY terminals.
