Before beginning installation, ensure the power supply is shut off at the fuse or circuit breaker. All installation work should be performed by an accredited professional. Do not exceed the maximum wattage specified for the bulbs. Ensure that bulbs do not touch the shade during or after installation.
Hanging Height Guidelines
Proper placement is essential for both aesthetics and functionality:

- Kitchen Island: Center the linear pendant over the island. If using multiple pendants, use one for every 24 inches of island length. Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the countertop.
- Dining Room Table: Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the table. Use a fixture that is 12 inches narrower than the width of the table.
- Open Areas: The bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet from the floor. Ensure there is clearance for any opening doors.
Assembly and Installation
Preparing for Installation
Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and locate the yellow bag containing all parts. Remove the old fixture and the old mounting strap from the wall. Attach the new mounting strap (B) to the junction box using the provided mounting screws (A) and a screwdriver. Ensure the nipple (F) is attached to the mounting strap (B) with a washer and hex nut (C).
Assembling the Fixture
Measure the desired hanging height and adjust the chain (O) length using pliers if necessary. Attach the chain (O) to the chain connector (K) on the top loop (L) and the canopy loop (D). Feed the fixture wires from the post (M) through the top loop (L), chain connectors (K), up the chain (O), through the canopy loop collar (J), canopy loop (D), and the canopy (I). Pull the wires until taut. Thread the top loop (L) onto the post (M) and slide the canopy loop collar (J) and canopy (I) down onto the chain.

Connecting the Wires
Have an assistant support the fixture's weight during wiring. Connect the fixture wires to the power supply wires from the junction box:

- Hot to Hot: Transparent wire with black inner thread, black wire, or smooth wire.
- Neutral to Neutral: Transparent wire with white inner thread, white wire, or ribbed wire.
- Ground to Ground: Transparent wire with green inner thread, green wire, or copper wire.
Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector. Ensure all twists are in the same direction. If there is no house ground wire, wrap the fixture's ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket.
Finishing the Installation
Lift the canopy (I) towards the ceiling and over the mounting strap (B). Secure the canopy by threading the canopy loop collar (J) and canopy loop (D) over the nipple (F) until the canopy is snug against the ceiling. Install the light bulbs into the sockets (N) within the shade (Q). Adjust the arms (P) as needed.
