Quick guide from the manual

This document provides instructions for the AcuRite 00515TXA1 wireless digital thermometer. Key operations include installing batteries, synchronizing sensors using the A-B-C switch, and configuring temperature alarms for both refrigerator and freezer zones. Ensure the display and sensors are within 75 feet (23 meters) of each other for reliable data transmission.

Elements of the set

  • 1 x Digital Display
  • 2 x Wireless Sensors

Setup and battery installation

Thermometer Display: Slide off the battery compartment cover and insert 3 x AA alkaline batteries, following the polarity (+/-) diagram.

Sensors: Slide off the battery compartment covers on the front of the units and insert 2 x AA batteries into each. Note: For temperatures below -4°F (-20°C), use lithium batteries in the freezer sensor.

Placement guidelines

Display: Place in a dry area free of dirt and dust. It features a magnet mount, a fold-out stand for tabletop use, and a keyhole for wall mounting.

Sensors: Each sensor includes a silicon band for wire shelves and a detachable suction cup for interior surfaces (note: suction cups do not adhere well to freezing surfaces). Ensure the A-B-C switch on the sensor matches the display setting.

Operation and alarm settings

The device displays current temperatures and min/max records for the past 24 hours. To customize temperature alarms:

  1. Press the sensor button (refrigerator or freezer icon) to select the sensor.
  2. Press the SET button; the minimum temperature alarm setting will blink.
  3. Use the up/down arrows to adjust the minimum temperature, then press SET to confirm.
  4. Repeat the process to set the maximum temperature alarm.

Care and maintenance

Clean the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use caustic cleaners or abrasives. If the display shows dashes, perform a hard reset by bringing all units together, removing all batteries, and reinstalling them starting with the display.

Practical help

Common problems

Temperature is showing dashes

Bring all 3 units together, remove all batteries, reinstall batteries in the display first, then in each sensor to force a hard reset.

Inaccurate temperature readings

Ensure you are using the correct battery type. Use lithium batteries in the freezer sensor if temperatures drop below -4°F (-20°C).

Display screen not working

Check that batteries are installed correctly and verify the temperature is within the measurable range of -40.0°F to 99.0°F.

Before use

  • Remove the protective film from the LCD screen.
  • Ensure the A-B-C switch on the sensors matches the display.
  • Use high-quality alkaline batteries (lithium for freezer if below -4°F).
  • Verify the display and sensors are within 75 feet (23 meters) of each other.
  • Register the product online at www.AcuRite.com for warranty service.

Specs in practice

Wireless Range
Maximum distance of 75 ft (23 m) between display and sensors; actual range may vary based on obstacles.
Data Reporting
The system updates temperature readings every 60 seconds.
A-B-C Switch
An ID code that must match between the display and sensors to ensure proper synchronization.

Model compatibility

  • Suction cups provided with sensors do not adhere well to freezing surfaces.
  • Heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries are not recommended for this device.
