This document provides instructions for the AcuRite 01185M meat thermometer. It covers initial setup, probe usage, and operation of the wireless display. Ensure you remove the protective film from the screen before first use.
Setup
Battery Installation:





- Thermometer Base: Slide off the battery cover and insert 2 x AAA alkaline batteries, following the polarity diagram.
- Wireless Display: Slide off the battery cover and insert 3 x AAA alkaline batteries, following the polarity diagram.
- Temperature Units: Use the F/C switch inside the thermometer base battery compartment to toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Operation
Meat Type and Doneness Setup:


- Power on the display; the meat type will flash.
- Use the left and right arrow buttons to cycle through presets (Custom, Fish, Lamb, Poultry, Pork, Chicken, Veal, Beef, Boil).
- Press SET to save.
- Once the meat type is selected, the doneness level will flash. Cycle through available options (Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Medium Well, Well Done) using the arrow buttons and press SET to save.
Temperature Monitoring:
- Insert the narrow end of the probe into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bone, gristle, or the pan.
- The display will beep when the target temperature is reached.
- Ambient Temperature: Use the provided clip to attach the ambient probe to the cooking grate. Keep the probe cord away from food at all times.
Care and Maintenance
- Store in a dry location at room temperature.
- Clean the display with a soft, damp cloth.
- Wipe the temperature probe clean with warm water immediately after use.
- Do not wash in a dishwasher, immerse in water, or use caustic cleaners.
- Do not place the base or display on or near hot surfaces or inside an oven.
Troubleshooting
- Check Probe (E1): The probe cord is not connected. Verify the connection is secure.
- Check Probe (E2): The probe cord is damaged or was exposed to extreme heat. Replace the cord.
- Display not working: Check that batteries are installed correctly and replace them if necessary.
