This guide covers the setup and operation of the AcuRite 00591W wireless thermometer. The system consists of a main indoor unit and a remote outdoor sensor. The sensor is weather-resistant and has a transmission range of up to 100 feet in open areas.

Battery installation

For the initial setup, always install batteries in the main unit first, followed by the remote sensor.

• Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries into the main unit.
• Insert 2 AAA alkaline batteries into the remote sensor.
• The main unit and sensor have an approximate battery life of 12 months.

Thermometer set-up

1. Install batteries in the main unit.
2. Remove the rear cover of the remote sensor by separating the front and back panels at the side seam.
3. Insert batteries into the sensor.
4. Press the TX button to send a signal to the main unit.
5. Press the C/F button to select your preferred temperature display mode.
6. Replace the back cover on the sensor.

Operation and memory

The device tracks high and low temperatures:

• MAX: Press to view the maximum recorded temperature.
• MIN: Press to view the minimum recorded temperature.
• CLEAR: Press once to clear the memory records.

Troubleshooting

If the outdoor temperature display flashes, the unit may be experiencing interference. Try the following:

• Check for low battery indicators on the main unit.
• Ensure the sensor is within the 100-foot transmission range.
• Move the sensor away from metal surfaces or electrical devices that may cause interference.
• If replacing batteries in the sensor, reset the main unit by removing and re-installing its batteries.

Safety and maintenance

While the sensor is weather-resistant, it is not waterproof and should not be submerged. For best results, place the sensor in a protected area. Avoid extreme heat, which can cause battery leakage or corrosion, and protect the LCD from prolonged exposure to extreme cold.
