The Adler AD 3170 is a digital kitchen scale designed for household use. This guide provides essential information for setup, operation, and maintenance.
Device Description
The scale features the following components:

- 1. Scale surface: The area where items are placed for weighing.
- 2. UNIT button: Used to change the unit of measurement.
- 3. Display: Shows the weight and status messages.
- 4. ON/OFF and TARE button: Used to power the device on/off and reset the scale to zero.
Battery Installation
The scale requires 2x 3V (CR2032) batteries.



- Remove the lid of the battery compartment at the bottom of the scale.
- Remove the old battery if present.
- Insert the new batteries of the correct type.
- Close the lid of the battery compartment.
Operating Instructions
Weighing
- Place the scale on a stable, flat, and dry surface.
- Press the ON/OFF button (4) to turn on the scale.
- Wait until the display shows 0.0.
- Place the object to be weighed on the scale surface (1).
- Wait a moment for the result to stabilize.
Tare Function
To weigh items in a container:
- Place the empty container on the scale surface (1).
- Press the TARE button (4). The display will show zero.
- Add the items to the container to see their net weight.
Selecting Units
Press the UNIT button (2) while the scale is on to cycle through available units of measure (g, ml, lb:oz, fl.oz).
Cleaning and Maintenance
Gently wipe the scale surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids.
Troubleshooting
The display may show the following messages:
- EE: Excessive scale load (over 15kg).
- Lo: Low battery; replace the batteries.
- unSt: The scale is not on a stable surface.
