Table of contents

Important Information

Installation of this LED tape should be carried out by competent electrical installers, observing the relevant electrical safety procedures. The tape is designed for use on clean, non-porous surfaces. The LEDs are covered with an epoxy coating to protect against wear and tear and provide water resistance.

Installation and Cutting

The 5m reel is fitted with a 5-pin connector for power input from an RGBW controller. If a length shorter than 5m is required, the tape can be cut at 10cm intervals at the designated solder points. To re-connect, strip the epoxy coating and solder a wire from V+, G, R, B, and W to the corresponding points on the next length. It is advised to seal cuts and joints with silicone glue to maintain weatherproofing.

Power Requirements

It is imperative that the power supply, controller, and amplifier/repeater have a higher rated capacity in Amps (A) than the current required for the installed length. For runs longer than 10m, use the included 5-pin couplers to connect reels in sequence with an amplifier/repeater to ensure extension reels mimic the colour changes of the original reel.

Practical help

Common problems

Tape not lighting up

Ensure the V+, G, R, B, and W pins are connected in the correct order to the controller.

Voltage drop or dimming over long runs

Use an amplifier/repeater for runs longer than 10m to maintain consistent brightness and power.

Before use

  • Verify the power supply is 24Vdc.
  • Ensure the installation surface is clean and non-porous.
  • Check that the power supply, controller, and amplifier have sufficient amperage for the total length of tape installed.
  • Confirm the polarity of the V+, G, R, B, and W connections.

Specs in practice

IP Rating (IP65)
The tape is protected against dust and water jets, suitable for various environments.

Model compatibility

  • Requires a 24Vdc power supply.
  • Requires an RGBW controller for colour changing.
  • Requires an amplifier/repeater for installations exceeding 10m.
