Instruction Manual for BEGA 23296 Ceiling and Wall Luminaire

Important Information

The BEGA 23296 is a ceiling and wall luminaire designed for indoor use. Installation and commissioning must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with national safety regulations. The luminaire features a hand-blown opal glass cover and a metal housing.

Product Description

The luminaire is constructed with a metal housing (white finish) and hand-blown opal glass secured by a sliding-bolt closure. It includes a LED power supply unit and is protected by a BEGA Thermal Switch to prevent overheating of sensitive components.

Safety

• Installation and operation must comply with national safety regulations.
• Only a qualified electrician may perform installation and commissioning.
• The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or installation.
• Any modifications made to the luminaire make the modifier the manufacturer.

Installation

Preparation:

• Disassemble the LED module.
• Disconnect the LED connection and earth connection (plug connection).
• Strip the mains supply cable to a maximum of 80 mm.
• Lead the mains supply cable through the cable entry into the luminaire housing.

Mounting:

• Fix the luminaire housing to the mounting surface using the enclosed or other suitable fixing material.
• It is mandatory to use the enclosed gaskets.
• Make the earth conductor connection.
• Push silicone sleeves over the lines and make the electrical connection.
• Make the earth connection between the LED module and the luminaire housing (plug connection).
• Push the plug into the coupler as far as it will go.
• Assemble the LED module and tighten the screws evenly (max. 0.8 Nm), ensuring no mechanical damage occurs to the module.
• Important: Ensure wires are not damaged when fixing the opal glass. Insert the glass into the housing and turn it clockwise until it stops.

Maintenance and LED Replacement

The LED module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools. The light colour and output of replacement modules correspond to the original. To replace the module:

• Disconnect the system from the power supply.
• Unscrew the glass by turning it counter-clockwise.
• Follow the specific installation instructions provided with the replacement LED module.
• Clean the glass and luminaire regularly using solvent-free cleansers.
• A broken glass must be replaced immediately.

Technical Specifications

The luminaire is available in two versions (23 296K3 and 23 296K4) with different colour temperatures (3000 K and 4000 K respectively). Both versions feature a CRI >90 and are rated for 220-240 V, 0/50-60 Hz. The luminaire has an impact strength rating of IK06 (protection against mechanical impacts < 1 joule).
