This manual provides essential instructions for the assembly, safe operation, and maintenance of the BERG Choppy pedal go-kart. Always ensure the go-kart is assembled by an adult and that children are supervised during use. The maximum user weight is 50 kg.
Unpacking
Before beginning assembly, ensure all parts are present. The package includes the main frame, steering assembly, wheels, seat, and necessary hardware (bolts, nuts, washers, and tools). Refer to the unpacking diagram on page 5 to verify all components.

Installation
Follow these steps to assemble your BERG Choppy:

- Steering and Front Wheel: Attach the steering assembly to the front fork and secure the front wheel using the provided hardware.
- Rear Wheels: Mount the rear wheels onto the rear axle, ensuring all washers and nuts are tightened securely.
- Frame Assembly: Connect the main frame sections as shown in the diagrams.
- Seat: Install the seat onto the frame in the position suitable for the user's size.
- Final Checks: Ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened and that the steering and brakes function correctly.
Safety Warnings
- Adult supervision is required at all times.
- Do not use on public roads, near motor vehicles, steep inclines, steps, or bodies of water.
- Never ride on hills or slopes as this increases braking distance and the risk of tipping over.
- Always wear shoes while using the product.
- Do not make sharp turns at high speeds.
- Keep loose clothing, scarves, and shoelaces away from moving parts.
- Do not ride under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
User Guidelines
Before Use: Adjust the seat to the correct position. Check that steering, brakes, and tires are functioning correctly. Ensure all bolts and nuts are fixed. Check tire pressure according to the norms on the tire.
During Use: Ride at a suitable speed. Always brake using the back pedal brake. When parking, turn the steering to the left or right to prevent the go-kart from rolling away. Do not place unnecessary objects on the steering wheel.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is required to ensure safety and longevity.
- Daily: Check tires for wear and tear; check tire pressure.
- Monthly: Clean and check all nuts and bolts; check frame for cracks; check chain tension and lubricate; lubricate moving parts.
- Half-Yearly: Check functioning of bearings, chain, hub, sprockets, and axles; check and tighten crank bolts.
- Yearly: Clean plastic parts and check for damage.
Chain Tensioning
If the chain is too loose, it may fall off; if too tight, pedaling becomes difficult. Always tension the rear/short chain first.
Rear Chain: Remove the protective hood, loosen hub nuts, move the hub forward to tension, ensure it is parallel to the rear axle, and retighten nuts. Correct tension allows 6 mm of downward deflection in the middle.
Front Chain: Loosen crank axle nuts, move the crank axle forward to tension, and retighten. Correct tension allows 10 mm of upward deflection in the middle.
Crank Adjustment
After initial use, the crank mounting bolts may settle. Tighten them to a maximum of 30 Nm to prevent play and damage to the crank and axle.
Warranty
The frame and non-wear parts have a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. Wear parts like chains and tires are excluded. Warranty is void if the product is misused, not maintained according to the manual, or if non-original parts are used.
