The BERG Rally APX Red 3 Gears is designed for children aged 4-12 years with a maximum user weight of 60 kg. This go-kart is for private use only and must not be used on public roads. Adult supervision is required at all times. Before use, ensure the seat and steering wheel are adjusted to the user's size, and verify that steering, brakes, and tires are functioning correctly. Tire pressure should be maintained at 28 psi (1.9 bar).

Assembly

The assembly process involves 20 steps detailed in the manual. Key assembly stages include connecting the frame, installing the steering mechanism, attaching the wheels, mounting the seat, and installing the pedals. Ensure all bolts and nuts are securely tightened during assembly. Refer to the provided diagrams on pages 4 through 13 for the specific sequence of parts and fasteners.

User guidelines

Before use: Adjust the seat and steering wheel to the correct position. Check that the steering, brakes, and tires are functioning correctly and that all bolts and nuts are fixed. Ensure protective covers are in place.

During use: Ride at a suitable speed, pay attention to the environment, and always use the handbrake or back pedal brake. Do not operate electrical parts while driving. Avoid sharp turns at high speeds to prevent tipping. Do not ride on hills or slopes.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential for the longevity of the go-kart.

• Daily: Check tires for wear and pressure.
• Monthly: Clean and check all nuts and bolts. Check the frame for cracks. Check chain tension and grease chains. Lubricate moving parts.
• Half-Yearly: Check the driving mechanism (bearings, chain, hub, sprockets, axles).
• Yearly: Clean plastic parts and check for damage.

Chain Tensioning: The go-kart has two chains. For the rear chain, ensure the middle can be pushed 6 mm downwards. For the front chain, ensure the middle can be pushed 1 cm downwards.

Crank Adjustment: After initial use, tighten the crank mounting bolts to a maximum of 30 Nm to prevent play.

Hub Gear Tuning: The gears should be tuned at least every six months. Remove the protective hood, set the hub to 2nd gear, loosen the adjustment rod nut, position the grip shift cable, and tighten the cable.

Warranty

The frame has a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. Other parts also have a 2-year warranty, excluding wear and tear items like chains and tires. Warranty claims require the original purchase receipt and the serial number found on the frame.
