Assembly

Tool change, direction switch, and carbon brush replacement
Tool change, direction switch, and carbon brush replacement
  • Battery Charging: The battery is supplied partially charged. Charge it fully in the recommended charger before first use. The Li-ion battery is protected against deep discharge by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP).
  • Changing the Tool: Remove the battery before any maintenance or tool change. Open the keyless chuck by turning it in the direction of the arrow until the tool can be inserted. Tighten the chuck collar firmly by hand.

Operation

  • Direction of Rotation: Use the rotational direction switch to change the direction. Do not operate this switch while the On/Off switch is pressed.
  • Operating Mode: Use the mode selector switch (on GSB models) to choose between drilling, screwdriving, or impact drilling.
  • Speed and Torque: Adjust speed by varying the pressure on the On/Off switch. Use the torque preselection ring to set the required torque in 20 steps.
  • Gear Selection: Use the gear selector to choose between 1st gear (low speed, high torque) and 2nd gear (high speed, low torque).

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • General: Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation.
  • Carbon Brushes: Check the length of the carbon brushes every 2-3 months and replace both if necessary. Use only original Bosch carbon brushes.
