This manual provides essential instructions for the Bosch GLF 18V-8 Professional cordless edge router. Before using the tool, ensure the battery is charged and the router bit is correctly installed. Always remove the battery before performing maintenance or changing accessories to prevent accidental startup.
Product Description
The GLF 18V-8 is a cordless edge router designed for routing grooves, edges, profiles, and elongated holes in wood, plastic, and light building materials. It features speed preselection, constant electronic control, and a connection for dust extraction.

Battery Operation
The tool is compatible with Bosch GBA 18V and ProCORE18V batteries. To insert, push the charged battery into the holder until it clicks. To remove, press the battery release button and pull the battery out. The battery charge indicator (if equipped) shows the remaining capacity via green LEDs.
Fitting and Tool Changes
Removing the routing base: Open the wing bolt on the routing base and pull the drive unit out. Changing the collet: Press and hold the spindle lock button, unscrew the cap nut with the open-ended spanner, and replace the collet if necessary. Fitting the router bit: Insert the bit into the collet and tighten the cap nut securely. Never tighten the collet without a router bit installed.

Operation
Setting the routing depth: With the tool switched off, place it on the workpiece. Open the wing bolt on the routing base to adjust the depth using the scale or knurled screw, then close the wing bolt. Preselecting speed: Use the speed preselection thumbwheel to adjust the speed (10,000–30,000 min-1) based on the material and bit diameter. Switching on/off: Set the on/off switch to I to start and 0 to stop.
Working Advice
Always route against the direction of the router bit rotation (up cut). When using the guide bushing, ensure the router bit diameter is smaller than the bushing's interior diameter. For parallel cuts, use the parallel guide. For edge routing without a guide, use a bit with a pilot pin or ball bearing.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Always remove the battery before maintenance. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean to ensure safe and efficient operation.
