Important Information
This guide provides instructions for the Certa 180L/Min Air Compressor (CT180ARCMPA). Always operate the compressor within its maximum pressure rating and duty cycle to prevent damage and voiding the warranty. The unit is equipped with an automatic thermal overload protector to prevent overheating.
Safety Instructions
- Use with 12V DC power only.
- Do not disassemble or attempt repairs.
- The compressor becomes very hot during use; do not touch with bare hands except for the ON/OFF switch.
- Never leave the compressor unattended during operation.
- Keep the base tray clean to provide a stable operating platform.
- Do not use near water or in areas where it can fall into liquids.
- Always turn the power off if the thermal protector activates.
Operating Instructions
Power Connection: Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting. Attach the red battery clamp to the positive terminal and the black clamp to the negative terminal. It is strongly recommended to keep the vehicle engine running while operating the compressor to prevent battery discharge.
Usage: Ensure the 5-metre power cord is fully uncoiled to prevent overheating. The compressor must be operated in an upright position. If the compressor shuts down automatically, turn off the power switch and allow it to cool for approximately 20 minutes before resuming.
Tyre Inflation and Deflation
Tyre Inflation: Attach the quick connect coupler to the compressor, screw the tyre chuck onto the valve, ensure the deflater collar lock is disengaged, and turn the switch on.
Hands-Free Continuous Air Release: Screw the tyre chuck onto the valve, push the deflater collar toward the valve, and turn it clockwise to engage the lock. Turn counter-clockwise to disengage.
Intermittent Deflation: With the chuck attached, push the deflater collar towards the valve to decrease pressure. Press the collar to halt deflation.

Practical help
Common problems
The thermal protector has activated. Turn off the power switch, allow the unit to cool for 20 minutes, then restart.
This is a normal reaction when there is back pressure in the line; it is not a malfunction.
Keep the vehicle engine running while operating the compressor.
Before use
- Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position.
- Check that the 12V DC power source is ready.
- Ensure the 5-metre power cord is uncoiled and fully extended.
- Verify the compressor is on a stable, upright surface.
- Confirm the deflater collar lock is disengaged before starting inflation.
Specs in practice
- Duty Cycle Time
- The maximum time the compressor can run continuously (25 mins) before needing to cool down.
- Max Pressure
- The maximum air pressure the unit can handle (150 psi); exceeding this will damage the unit.
Model compatibility
- Requires 12V DC power source.
- Designed for use with atmospheric air only.
