Quick guide from the manual

The Fieldmann FDAK 12011 is a 12V portable air compressor designed for inflating tires, bicycles, and inflatable toys. It connects to a standard 12V vehicle cigarette lighter socket. Important: This device is not designed for long, continuous operation. To prevent overheating and damage, you must allow the compressor to cool down for approximately 20 minutes after every 10 minutes of continuous use.

Product Description

The compressor consists of the following main components:

Parts identification: 1. ON/OFF Switch, 2. Pressure Gauge, 3. Power Cord, 4. Adaptors, 5. Air Output Hose.
Parts identification: 1. ON/OFF Switch, 2. Pressure Gauge, 3. Power Cord, 4. Adaptors, 5. Air Output Hose.
  • ON/OFF Switch: Controls power to the unit.
  • Pressure Gauge: Monitors air pressure (designed for up to 6 Bars / 87 PSI).
  • Supply Lead (Power Cord): 3-meter cable for 12V connection.
  • Adaptors: Included for various inflatable items.
  • Air Output Hose: 1-meter hose with a valve lever connector.

Safety Instructions

Follow these safety precautions to ensure safe operation and prevent injury:

  • Do not leave the compressor unattended while in operation.
  • Do not inflate items beyond their maximum specified pressure.
  • Keep the compressor away from flammable solids, liquids, or gases.
  • Do not direct the inflation hose at yourself, others, or animals.
  • Do not operate the unit if you are tired, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
  • Do not use the compressor if it is wet or in the rain.
  • Do not carry the unit by the hose or pull the plug by the cord.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Operation

Inflating Tires

  1. Push the valve lever connector onto the tire valve.
  2. Close the connector by moving the lever downward.
  3. Connect the power plug to the 12V cigarette lighter socket.
  4. Turn the ON/OFF switch to ON.
  5. Once the required pressure is reached, turn the switch OFF, remove the connector from the valve, and disconnect the power plug.

Inflating Other Items

  1. Select the appropriate adapter and attach it to the valve lever connector.
  2. Secure the connector and insert the adapter into the item to be inflated.
  3. Connect the power plug to the 12V cigarette lighter socket.
  4. Turn the ON/OFF switch to ON.
  5. Once the required pressure is reached, turn the switch OFF, remove the adapter, and disconnect the power plug.

Maintenance and Overheating

The compressor is prone to overheating during extended use. If the external metal parts become hot to the touch, switch off the compressor immediately and allow it to cool for at least 20 minutes. Always ensure the valve lever connector is in the open position when the unit is not in use.

Troubleshooting

  • Compressor does not start / fuse blows: Ensure the plug is inserted deeply into the socket and turned. Clean any dirt from the socket or plug using a non-conducting probe. Check the cigarette lighter fuse (minimum capacity 10A).
  • Compressor runs but does not inflate: Ensure the valve lever connector is tightly secured on the valve. Check the item for leaks and inspect the hose for cracks.
  • Compressor works too slowly: This is usually caused by overheating. Disconnect the power and let the unit cool for 20 minutes. Also, check that the vehicle battery voltage is sufficient.
