Description

Finger guards are designed to fit over the soft starter's power terminals. They increase the IP rating and prevent accidental contact with live terminals. When used with cables of 22 mm diameter or greater, they provide IP20 protection.

Installation

Follow these steps to install the finger guards:

  1. Disconnect the soft starter from mains and control voltage.
  2. Place 1 retaining bracket over each busbar and clip into the base of the soft starter.
  3. Feed each power cable through the narrow end of each finger guard.
  4. Connect the cables to the appropriate terminals of the soft starter. Note: If the cables do not fit through the finger guards, shorten the finger guards at the narrow end to make a bigger opening.
  5. Push the finger guard over each retaining bracket and secure in place with a cable tie.
