The Danfoss CF-RP Public is a tamperproof room thermostat designed for use with a Danfoss Master Controller. Before use, ensure you remove the battery protection strips to activate the device. During the initial pairing (installation) process, the thermostat must be within 1.5 meters of the Master Controller.
Functional Overview
The device features a front cover, a red LED indicator, and a combined turning knob and push button used for temperature settings and testing. LED modes indicate the device status:
- Permanent light: ON
- No light: OFF
- Slow flashing: Flashes (during communication)
- Fast flashing: Flickers (during communication)
Installation
To pair the thermostat with the Master Controller:
- Activate the Install mode on the Master Controller using the menu selection button. The Install LED will flash.
- Press OK on the Master Controller to activate the mode; the Install LED will turn ON.
- Press the push button on the Room Thermostat. The LEDs on both the Master Controller and the thermostat will flicker during communication.
- Select the desired output on the Master Controller using the output selection button and confirm with OK.
- The thermostat installation status is confirmed when the LED on the thermostat turns OFF. If it flashes 5 times, the installation was not successful.
Transmission Test
To verify the connection:
- Press the push button on the Room Thermostat. The LED will turn ON.
- If the link is satisfactory, the LED will turn OFF.
- If the link is unsatisfactory, the LED will flash 5 times.
- If there is no connection, try relocating the thermostat or installing a Repeater Unit (CF-RU) between the controller and the thermostat.
Mounting
For optimal performance, install the thermostat in a location away from direct sunlight, drafts, and other heat sources such as televisions. Use the provided back plate, screws, and wall plugs to mount the device securely to the wall.
Uninstallation
To remove the thermostat from the system:
- Activate the Uninstall mode on the Master Controller.
- Select the output to be removed using the output selection button.
- Confirm the removal with the OK button.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, check the LED status:
- LED flashes every 5 minutes: Low battery.
- LED flashes every 30 seconds: Critical low battery.
- LED flashes 5 times: Installation or Link test is unsatisfactory.
