This document provides installation and operation instructions for the Danfoss TPOne-S Electronic Programmable Room Thermostat. It is intended for both qualified installers and end-users. Key procedures include initial setup, RF pairing, and configuration of heating schedules.
Mounting and Positioning
Proper positioning is critical for RF performance. Ensure the following:
- Mount the thermostat at a height of approximately 1.5m from the floor.
- Avoid areas with draughts, direct sunlight, or heat sources like radiators.
- Keep the receiver at least 30cm away from metal enclosures or appliances.
- Ensure there are no large metal objects (e.g., boiler cases, mirrors) in the line of sight between the transmitter and receiver, as these will block the RF signal.
Wiring
DBR Receiver: Connect to terminals N, L, 1, 2, 3, 4. Terminals 3 and 4 are for COM and OUT connections. Ensure 230V AC, 50Hz power supply.
TPOne-S: Connect to terminals N and L for 230V AC power. If using the table stand, use only the provided power supply and USB cable.
Setup Wizard
The setup wizard launches automatically upon first power-up. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure:
- Language
- Date and Time
- Hot Water Setup
- RF Pairing (press OK to pair, then press the button on the receiver to confirm)
User Interface and Comfort Modes
The interface uses navigation buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right, OK, Back) and a Menu button. Comfort modes simplify daily scheduling:
- Home: For occupied periods. Supports AM/PM temperature settings.
- Away: For unoccupied periods.
- Asleep: For nighttime temperature settings.
- Standby: Switches heating off but maintains frost protection.
Settings and Configuration
Access the User Menu for daily schedules, temperature adjustments, and holiday settings. The Installer Settings menu (accessible by qualified personnel) allows for advanced configuration, including:
- Hot Water Setup: Enable/disable domestic hot water control.
- Control Type: Choose between On/Off or chrono-proportional (3, 6, or 12 cycle rate).
- Start-up Method: Normal, Delayed Start (Economy), or Optimised Start (Comfort).
- Service Interval: Set boiler service reminders with specific restriction modes (Warning Only to No Heating).
Troubleshooting and Warnings
The TPOne-S displays warning messages at the top of the screen. Common issues include:
- RF Lost: Check for obstructions between the thermostat and receiver.
- Pairing Failed: Perform manual pairing via the Installer Menu.
- Frost Risk: Temperature dropped below 5°C; check heating system.
- Sensor Fail: Internal sensor error; contact service provider.

Common problems
RF Lost warning
Ensure no large metal objects (boiler cases, mirrors) are obstructing the line of sight between the thermostat and receiver.
Pairing Failed
Ensure the connection is not obstructed. Use the Installer Menu to initiate manual pairing.
Low Heat warning
If the set temperature is not reached within 2 hours, check that the heating system is operating correctly.
Sensor Fail
If the internal temperature sensor is measuring outside operational parameters and cannot be reset, contact your service provider.

- Ensure installation is performed by a qualified electrician or heating installer.
- Verify the mounting location is 1.5m from the floor and away from draughts.
- Confirm the receiver is at least 30cm away from metal enclosures.
- Check that the power supply is 230V AC, 50Hz.
- Ensure the TPOne-S App is downloaded if using WiFi features.
