This document provides essential instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Della 048-TL-W5KW Mini Compact Air Conditioner. Always read the full safety instructions before use. The unit is designed for standard double-hung windows with a width between 23 and 34 inches.
Important safety instructions
- Electrical: Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not use an extension cord or plug adapter. Do not remove the ground prong.
- Refrigerant R32: This unit uses R32 refrigerant. Installation and maintenance must comply with local gas-related laws and regulations. Ensure the area is well-ventilated and free from open flames or heat sources during installation.
- Handling: Use two or more people to move and install the unit. Be careful of sharp metal edges and aluminum fins.
Installation and assembly
Top Rail Assembly: Before installing in the window, attach the top mounting rail to the top of the unit using the provided 3/8 inch screws.




Accordion Panels: Slide the accordion panels into the side channels of the air conditioner. Adjust them to fit the width of your window opening.
Window Placement: Place the unit on the window sill. Ensure the unit is tilted slightly downward toward the outside to allow accumulated rainwater to drain properly. Secure the unit using the provided frame lock and sash lock.
Using your air conditioner
The unit features a manual control panel:

- Mode Dial: Select between Fan modes or Cooling modes. For maximum cooling, set the mode to the snowflake icon.
- Temperature Dial: Adjust the thermostat to your desired temperature. Set to 7 (Max Cool) for maximum cooling.
- Airflow: Use the horizontal wheel and air deflectors to direct the airflow.
Note: Always wait at least 3 minutes before changing modes to prevent compressor damage.
Care and cleaning
- Air Filter: Check and clean the filter at least once a month. Remove the filter, wash with warm water and mild soap, rinse, and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
- Cabinet: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Wipe the cabinet with a damp cloth and mild soap. Never use harsh cleaners or wax.
- Winter Storage: Remove the unit from the window, clean it, and store it in the original box or cover with plastic.
Troubleshooting
- Unit won't start: Check if it is plugged in, check the fuse/circuit breaker, or press the RESET button on the LCDI plug. Wait 3 minutes for the compressor delay.
- Not cooling: Ensure airflow is not blocked by curtains or furniture. Check if the temperature dial is set correctly. Clean the air filter.
- Water dripping inside: Ensure the unit is tilted slightly downward toward the outside.
