Quick guide from the manual
The Aircast AirSelect Standard is designed for moderate support, specifically for stable fractures of the lower leg, foot, and ankle, severe ankle sprains, and post-operative use. It features two customizable distal aircells for personalized compression.
Application
- Unfasten all straps, remove the front panel, and open the liner.
- While seated, place your foot into the brace, ensuring the heel is positioned firmly against the back of the brace.
- Wrap the liner securely around your foot and leg.
- Replace the front panel, ensuring the Aircast logo is positioned over the toes.
- Secure the straps starting from the bottom and moving to the top, tightening until the fit is snug and comfortable.
Adjusting Aircell Compression
The aircells are initially deflated. To adjust compression:
- Select Aircell: Turn the selector dial on the right side of the brace to the desired number (1 for the right-side aircell, 2 for the left-side aircell).
- Inflate: Press and release the large inflation pump located on the top right side of the brace until the aircell feels snug. Repeat for the other aircell if necessary.
- Deflate: Turn the selector to the appropriate number, then press and hold the small release button on the top right side of the brace until the desired pressure is reached.
Note: Always deflate aircells before removing the brace for a proper fit when reapplying. Higher pressure provides more support during walking, while lower pressure is more comfortable when sitting or reclining.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The foam liner may be hand-washed in 86°F/30°C water using a mild detergent. Air-dry the liner completely. Do not use a dryer or other heat sources for drying.
