Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential instructions for the Einhell TE-AC 270/50/10 air compressor. Before first use, ensure the device is fully assembled, check the oil level, and replace the transport plug with the provided oil sealing plug.

Device Description

The compressor is designed for generating compressed air for pneumatic tools. Key components include the pressure tank, pressure regulator, quick-lock couplings, and an overload switch to protect the motor.

Assembly

The device must be fully assembled before use:

  • Wheels: Install as shown in Figure 5.
  • Supporting feet: Install as shown in Figure 6.
  • Transport handle: Screw onto the compressor as shown in Figures 7-8.
  • Oil sealing plug: Remove the transport cover from the oil filler opening and insert the provided oil sealing plug (Figure 9/11).
  • Air filter: Remove the transport cover from the air filter connection and screw in the air filter (Figure 10).

Operation

To switch on the compressor, pull out the On/Off switch (8). To switch off, press the switch back in. The pressure can be adjusted using the pressure regulator (7) and read on the pressure gauge (6). The pressure switch is factory-set to switch on at approx. 8 bar and off at 10 bar.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Condensation water: Drain the pressure tank after every use by opening the drain valve (11).
  • Oil level: Check regularly; the level must be between MAX and MIN on the oil level window. Change the oil after the first 100 operating hours, then every 500 hours. Recommended oil: SAE 5W/40 or equivalent.
  • Air filter: Clean at least every 300 operating hours.
  • Safety valve: Do not adjust or remove the seal. Actuate periodically to ensure it functions correctly.

Safety

Always pull the power plug before cleaning or maintenance. Wait for the compressor to cool down completely and depressurize the tank before starting work. Do not operate the device with open doors or housing.

Troubleshooting

If the compressor does not start, check the power supply, extension cable length, and ensure the motor has not overheated. If the compressor runs but produces no pressure, check the non-return valve and seals. If the compressor runs but tools do not, check hose connections and the pressure regulator setting.

Practical help

Common problems

Compressor does not start

Check power supply, plug, and fuse. Avoid excessively long extension cables. Ensure ambient temperature is above +5°C. If the motor overheated, let it cool down and press the overload switch.

Compressor runs but no pressure

Check the non-return valve (28) and seals. Tighten the condensation drain plug (11) by hand.

Compressor runs, pressure gauge shows pressure, but tools do not work

Check hose connections and quick-lock couplings for leaks. Increase the pressure setting on the pressure regulator.

Before use

  • Fully assemble the device (wheels, feet, handle, air filter).
  • Check the oil level in the pump.
  • Replace the transport cover with the oil sealing plug.
  • Inspect the device for transport damage.
  • Ensure the device is placed on a firm, level surface.
