Quick guide from the manual
The 44MAGNUM is a compact 44-watt guitar power amplifier. It is designed to drive a speaker cabinet directly. Important: This is a power amplifier, not an effects pedal. Never connect its output to the input of another amplifier, mixer, or interface. Always connect the speaker cabinet before applying power.
Controls and Jacks
- VOLUME CONTROL: Adjusts the output loudness. Turning it clockwise increases volume and eventually introduces power amp saturation (overdrive).
- BRIGHT/NORM CONTROL: In the BRIGHT position, it adds a subtle top-end boost. In the NORM position, the boost is disabled.
- INPUT Jack: Connect your guitar, preamp, or effects pedals here using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable. Input impedance is 2 MΩ.
Setup and Connections
To operate the 44MAGNUM, follow these steps:
- Ensure the unit is powered off.
- Connect the 44MAGNUM output to a speaker cabinet with an impedance between 8 Ω and 16 Ω. An 8 Ω load is ideal.
- Use the supplied 24VDC / 3A power adapter. Do not use any other power supply, as it may damage the unit.
- Power on the unit only after the speaker cabinet is connected.
Safety and Troubleshooting
If the unit is connected to a speaker cabinet while already powered on, it may automatically mute to prevent a short circuit. If this happens, disconnect the power, wait a few seconds, and reconnect it. The unit requires a speaker cabinet with at least a 50W peak rating (or 25W RMS).
Practical help
Common problems
Ensure the speaker cabinet is connected before powering on. If the unit muted itself, power it off, wait a few seconds, and power it back on.
Never connect the output to another amplifier, mixer, or computer interface. Use only the supplied 24VDC/3A power adapter.
Before use
- Verify speaker cabinet impedance is between 8 Ω and 16 Ω.
- Ensure speaker cabinet power rating is at least 50W peak (25W RMS).
- Use only the provided 24VDC/3A power supply.
- Connect the speaker cabinet before plugging in the power supply.
