Quick guide from the manual
The Nano Big Muff Pi is a compact harmonic distortion-sustain pedal designed for electric guitar. It features True Bypass switching, meaning the signal passes directly from input to output when the effect is disengaged. The pedal can be powered by a 9V battery or an external AC adapter.
Controls
- Sustain Control: Adjusts the amount of sustain and distortion applied to the signal.
- Tone Control: Provides a range of sounds from high treble to deep bass. Turning the knob clockwise increases treble and decreases bass.
- Volume Control: Sets the overall output level of the pedal.
- Footswitch & Status LED: The footswitch toggles between effect and bypass modes. When the LED is lit, the effect is active. When the LED is off, the pedal is in True Bypass mode.
Connections
- INPUT Jack: 1/4 inch jack for the audio input from your instrument. The input impedance is 130 kΩ.
- AMP Jack: 1/4 inch jack for the audio output to your amplifier. In Bypass mode, this jack is connected directly to the INPUT jack.
Power supply
The pedal is powered by a 9V battery or an optional 9VDC AC Adapter. If using an AC adapter, it must be capable of delivering at least 25mA and have a center-negative plug (e.g., EHX9.6DC-200). The battery can remain inside the unit while using an AC adapter.
Changing the battery
To replace the 9-volt battery, follow these steps:
- Remove the 4 screws located on the bottom of the pedal.
- Take off the bottom plate.
- Replace the battery.
- Reattach the bottom plate and screws.
Warning: Do not touch the circuit board while the bottom plate is removed to avoid damaging components.
