Quick guide from the manual
To start using the Octavix, connect the supplied power adapter to the 9V jack. Plug your instrument into the INPUT jack and your amplifier into the OUTPUT jack.

Controls
Boost Knob
Controls the amount of fuzz. Rolling down the guitar volume with high boost settings can create a slightly broken-up fuzz sound.
Octave Knob
Controls the volume of the octave above signal. At fully counter-clockwise, the octave effect is removed from the signal path.
Volume Knob
Controls the output signal level of the effect.
9/24 Toggle Switch
Selects the rail voltage for the circuit. Setting to 9V provides a classic saggy fuzz sound. Setting to 24V provides a tighter sound and richer octave tone. Note: When switching from 9V to 24V, there may be a temporary volume drop while the capacitors charge.
Operation
The footswitch engages the effect or sets it to True Bypass mode. The LED indicates when the effect is engaged.
Maintenance
To change the 9V battery, remove the 4 screws on the bottom plate. Do not touch the circuit board while the plate is off. Disconnect the INPUT jack when not in use to extend battery life. Note that battery drain is significantly higher in 24V mode.
Technical Specifications
- Current draw: 9mA (9V mode), 62mA (24V mode).
- Input impedance: 1M Ohm.
Practical help
Common problems
This is normal behavior as it takes a second or two for the capacitors to charge up to 24V.
This is normal if all controls are set to maximum.
Disconnect the INPUT jack when the pedal is not in use. Battery drain is significantly higher in 24V mode.
Before use
- Use the supplied 9.6V DC power supply or a 9V battery.
- Ensure the power supply has a center negative plug.
- Connect instrument to the INPUT jack.
- Connect amplifier to the OUTPUT jack.
Images and diagrams
- Sample settings for Warm Fuzz and Classic Octave Fuzz are provided in the manual.
Model compatibility
- Requires 9V battery or 9.6V DC 200mA center negative power supply.
