The Fieldmann FZP 2020-E is an electric chain saw designed for cutting wood. Before first use, ensure the oil tank is filled with oil specified for total-loss lubrication. Always check the chain tension and the functionality of the chain brake before every use. Wear appropriate protective gear, including a safety helmet, safety glasses, and ear protection.
Description of the chain saw
The chain saw features a 40 cm guide bar and an Oregon chain. Key components include:

- Power cord safety hook
- Safety brake
- Chain tensioning wheel
- Sprocket cover fastening knob
- Start/stop trigger
- Oil tank cap
Installation of the guide bar and chain

- Ensure the saw is disconnected from the power grid.
- Disengage the safety brake lever (pull towards the top handle).
- Loosen the sprocket cover fastening knob and remove the cover.
- Seat the chain on the guide bar and place the bar on the guide bolt.
- Thread the chain onto the drive sprocket wheel.
- Use the quick coupling system wheel to tension the chain slightly.
- Replace the sprocket cover and fasten it with the knob (do not fully tighten yet).
- Use the tensioning wheel to adjust the chain tension.
- The chain is correctly tensioned if it can be lifted 3-4 mm from the guide bar in the middle.
- Tighten the sprocket cover fastening knob.
Operation
Securing the extension cord: Bend the power cord approximately 20 cm before the socket, thread it through the hole in the rear handle, and fit it into the hook.

Starting: Press the trigger safety lock button, then press the start/stop trigger. The saw will run at maximum speed.
Stopping: Release the start/stop trigger. The motor brake will stop the chain immediately.
Chain brake
The saw is equipped with an automatic brake that stops the chain in the event of kickback. You can also engage it manually by pushing the brake lever forward. Check the brake function before every use by running the saw at full speed and pushing the brake lever forward; the chain must stop immediately.
Cleaning and maintenance
Keep the body of the chain saw clean using a soft cloth and soap solution. Regularly remove sawdust from the guide bar groove. If the guide bar is bent, cracked, or has a damaged groove, replace it.
Sharpening the saw chain
Keep the chain sharp for faster and safer cutting. Use a round file (as per technical specifications) and a file guide set at a 30° angle. After sharpening, adjust the depth gauge using a depth gauge adjustment jig and a flat file.

Storage
If not using the saw for longer than 30 days, drain the oil tank, clean the guide bar and chain, and store the saw in a dry, locked area out of reach of children.
