The Fieldmann FZS 2050-E is an electric string trimmer designed for garden maintenance. Before use, ensure all parts are present and the device is assembled correctly. Always wear protective gear, including eye, ear, and face protection, and maintain a 15-meter safety distance from other people and animals.
Description of the machine
The trimmer consists of a motor unit with a start/stop trigger, an adjustable handle, a split shaft, a protective safety guard, and a cutting head (nylon string or metal blade).
Assembly
- Shaft: Insert the bottom shaft into the coupling on the top shaft, ensure the locking pin fits into the hole, and tighten the screw.
- Guard: Attach the protective guard to the shaft using the supplied screws.
- Handle: Attach the handle using the included screws; it can be moved along the shaft to find a comfortable working position.
- Trimmer Head: Lock the shaft using the hex key, then screw the head on clockwise (reverse thread).
- Metal Blade: Lock the shaft, install the cogged washer, blade, retaining washer, cup cover, and lock nut. Tighten securely.
Starting the trimmer
Before starting, check that all screws are tight, the guard is secure, and the cutting tool is undamaged. To start, press the start/stop trigger safety lock, then press the start/stop trigger. The trimmer will run at maximum speed.
Cutting
Nylon String Head: The head rotates clockwise. The line is extended semi-automatically by tapping the head on the ground while the trimmer is running. Use for trimming grass and edges.
Metal Blade: Use for cutting dense grass, weeds, and woody vegetation. Use a pendular motion. Do not use for cutting trees thicker than 12 mm.
Maintenance
- Store spare line in a plastic bag with a small amount of water to keep it from drying out.
- Clean the tool with a damp cloth and gentle soap. Do not submerge in water or use pressurized water.
- Regularly sharpen the line cutter on the guard with a file.
Safety
Always keep hands away from the cutting area. Do not use the trimmer in rain or wet conditions. If the trimmer vibrates excessively, stop the motor immediately and check the cutting tool installation.
