Safety Warnings

  • Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear safety footwear, protective gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.
  • Work Area: Keep the area tidy and well-lit. Do not operate in rain or damp conditions.
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply is protected by a residual current device (RCD). Use extension cords suitable for outdoor use (max 10m, min 2.5mm² diameter).
  • Operation: Only one person should operate the machine. Never remove jammed logs with your hands.

Assembly

Wheels: Pass the axle through the wheel and washers, slide into the base holes, secure with a washer and R-pin, and attach the wheel cap.

Support Table: Loosen the star knob, unfold the table, insert the hooks into the mount brackets, and tighten the star knob.

Control Levers: Apply grease to the guard surfaces. Insert the lever assembly, ensuring the lever end enters the connection bracket slot. Secure with the lock pin and spring pin.

Adjustable Log Holder: Assemble retainers onto the clamps using M6x16 bolts, washers, and nuts. Secure the clamps to the armguards using star knobs.

Operation

Preparation: Ensure the log splitter is fixed to the ground using M10x30 bolts. Loosen the oil tank cover (Air Bleed) before use and retighten after finishing.

Setting wedge stroke
Setting wedge stroke

Setting Wedge Stroke: Move the splitting wedge to the desired position (about 3-5cm above the log). Release the setscrew, raise the adjusting rod until it hits the internal spring, and tighten the setscrew.

Two-Handed Operation: Lower both control levers to start splitting. Releasing either lever stops the wedge. Releasing both returns the wedge to the top position.

Maintenance

Hydraulic Oil: Check the oil level regularly using the dipstick. It should be 1-2 cm below the upper surface of the tank. Change the oil completely once a year. Recommended oils: SHELL Tellus 22, MOBIL DTE 11, ARAL Vitam GF 22, or BP Energol HLP-HM 22.

Sharpening: Use a fine-toothed file to remove burrs or flat spots from the splitting wedge edge.

Troubleshooting

If the motor does not start, check the mains fuse, extension line, or switch. If the motor rotates in the wrong direction, change the pole switching device in the plug. If the splitter fails to work or vibrates abnormally, check the hydraulic oil level and tighten any loose connection parts.
