This manual provides assembly, setup, and maintenance instructions for the FMS 1700MM P-47 Thunderbolt. Before operating, ensure the battery is fully charged and the receiver is bound to your transmitter. Always operate in an open area away from people, cars, and traffic. The recommended Center of Gravity (CG) is 90mm from the leading edge of the top main wing.
Assembly instructions
The assembly process is divided into several steps:

- Control horns: Install control surface horns on the elevator, ailerons, and flaps. Ensure they face the correct direction and screws are tightened into the back plates.
- Linkage rods: Connect the linkage rods to the servo control horns using the provided rubber securing tubes.
- Stabilizer: Glue the dorsal foam fin and install the horizontal and vertical stabilizers using the provided screws.
- Bomb rack: Glue the bomb racks into the designated slots.
- Main wing: Connect the wing leads to the Multiple Connector Part 1. Insert the glass fiber tubes into the wing sockets and secure the wing to the fuselage using the provided screws.
- Propeller: Assemble the propeller blades onto the back plate, secure with screws, and mount the assembly to the motor shaft.
Wire connection
Connect the receiver to the ESC and servos according to the channel diagram provided in the manual. Ensure the UBEC is placed at least 5cm away from the receiver to avoid electromagnetic interference. Secure all wires to prevent tangling with servo arms.
Control surface testing and setting
Before the first flight, perform the following checks:
- Bind the receiver with your transmitter.
- Ensure all control sticks are in neutral positions.
- Adjust the control surface linkages so they align with the trailing edges of the wings.
- Verify that the landing gear operates correctly.
- Test the motor response to throttle input.
ESC programming
The ESC allows for various programmable settings, including brake, battery type, low voltage cutoff, and motor rotation. To enter programming mode, switch on the transmitter, set the throttle to maximum, and connect the battery. Follow the audible tones to select and save settings.
Troubleshooting
If the motor does not work, check the ESC throttle calibration, battery connection, and receiver signal. If the motor runs in reverse, swap any two of the three motor wires or change the motor rotation setting in the ESC programming menu.
