Quick guide from the manual

The Frico Ribbed pipe radiator is designed for fixed installation. Key points for users include:

  • Installation: Must be mounted horizontally on a wall using 4 screws.
  • Safety: Do not cover the radiator. It is not intended for use by children under 8 without supervision.
  • First use: A small amount of smoke or smell may occur during the first start-up as dust burns off the heating elements; this is normal.
  • Maintenance: If the overheat protection triggers, the reset button is located under the outer protective cover. Identify and fix the cause of overheating before resetting.

Installation

The radiator must be mounted horizontally on the wall. It hangs on two screws via the upper keyhole slots, with the connection point on the left, and is secured by two lower screws. Ensure the following minimum distances are maintained:

  • Top: 300 mm
  • Bottom: 200 mm
  • Side: 50 mm

Floor mounting brackets (FBRP) are available as accessories.

Electrical connection

The radiator is intended for fixed installation. The connection to the mains must be made via an all-pole switch with a contact gap of at least 3 mm. All electrical work must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations.

Controls

Depending on the installation requirements (Ecodesign compliance), the radiator can be controlled via various thermostats, such as the TAP16R (electronic thermostat with weekly timer and adaptive start) or KRT1900 series. For installations not covered by Ecodesign regulations, specific control solutions are listed in the manual.

Safety

To prevent overheating and fire hazards, never cover the radiator. The unit should not be placed directly under a wall socket. Surfaces can become hot during operation; exercise caution, especially around children and vulnerable individuals. The 127 series models are sand-filled and certified for use in fire-risk rooms.

Technical data

The series includes models 125 (IP44) and 127 (sand-filled, IP44). All models operate on 230V~. Power outputs range from 200W to 1150W for the 125 series, and 500W to 800W for the 127 series. Refer to the specific model label for exact power and weight specifications.

Practical help

Common problems

Smoke or smell during first start-up

This is normal and caused by dust burning off the heating elements. It will disappear after a short period of use.

Overheat protection triggered

Identify and remove the cause of overheating (e.g., obstruction). The reset button is located under the outer protective cover.

Before use

  • Ensure the radiator is mounted horizontally on the wall.
  • Verify that the minimum distances (300mm top, 200mm bottom, 50mm side) are respected.
  • Ensure an all-pole switch with a 3mm gap is installed.
  • Confirm the unit is not covered by any objects.
  • Ensure installation is performed by a qualified electrician.

Images and diagrams

  • Wiring diagrams illustrate connections for thermostats like TAP16R and KRT1900.
  • Dimensions table provides A and B lengths for all model variants.

Model compatibility

  • Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2015/1188 applies to installations intended for thermal comfort.
  • Installations for technical heating (e.g., frost protection, machine rooms) may not be subject to Ecodesign regulations.
