This guide helps you set up and operate your Gevi 2-in-1 Smart Espresso Coffee Machine. Before first use, ensure all packaging is removed, wash removable parts in warm water, and prime the machine by running water through the group head and steam wand. Always use fresh, pure water and ensure the rubber plug in the water tank is removed.
Getting to Know Your Machine
The machine features a 15-bar pump, a thermoblock fast heating system, and a built-in thermometer. Key components include the group head, portafilter, steam wand, drip tray with a buoy indicator, and a 1.5L removable water tank.

Before First Use
- Positioning: Place the machine on a dry, stable, flat surface.
- Washing: Clean the filter, portafilter, drip tray, and spoon/tamper in warm water.
- Priming: Fill the water tank, insert the portafilter, and run water through the group head and steam wand to ensure the system is ready.
Espresso Making Guide
For the best espresso, use medium or dark roast coffee beans. A fine grind is essential. The correct dose for the double cup filter is approximately 14 grams.

- Ensure the machine is preheated (espresso indicator is solid blue).
- Dose the filter with coffee grinds and tamp firmly (10-15kg pressure).
- Wipe excess grinds from the portafilter edges.
- Insert the portafilter into the group head and rotate to the center position.
- Press the BREWING ESPRESSO button to start extraction. Press again to stop when the desired volume (approx. 40mL) is reached.
Milk Frothing Guide
Use fresh whole milk (3-8°C) in a 300-350mL stainless steel milk foam cup.

- Press the MILK STEAMING button and wait for the indicator to turn solid blue.
- Release residual steam from the wand before frothing.
- Position the steam wand tip just below the milk surface.
- Froth until the cup base is too hot to touch for 3 seconds.
- Clean the steam wand immediately after use.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for performance. Descale the machine every 100 uses or whenever water output decreases. Use a descaling agent or white vinegar and water solution. Follow the detailed descaling cycle in the manual, which involves running the solution through the machine and letting it soak to dissolve limescale.

Troubleshooting
- No coffee pours out: Check for too fine grind, too much coffee, or blockage in the group head/filter.
- Weak coffee: Ensure proper preheating, correct grind size, and adequate tamping force.
- No steam: Check for blockage in the steam wand or low water in the boiler.
- Water leaks: Ensure the drip tray is not full and the water tank is properly seated.
