Installation Instructions

1. Preparation: Carefully remove the fixture and parts from the carton. Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture and mounting strap. Attach the mounting strap (B) to the junction box using mounting screws (D). Ensure the mounting screws (A) are properly positioned in the strap.

2. Wiring: Have an assistant support the fixture's weight. Connect the fixture wires to the power supply wires from the junction box:

  • Hot: Connect to the hot wire (smooth, black, or transparent with black inner thread).
  • Neutral: Connect to the neutral wire (ribbed, white, or transparent with white inner thread).
  • Ground: Connect to the ground wire (copper, bare metal, green, or transparent with green inner thread).

Twist the wire pairs together and secure them with a wire connector, ensuring all twists are in the same direction. If no house ground wire exists, wrap the fixture ground wire around the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket.

3. Finishing the Installation: Lift the glass shade (J) to the glass holder (I) and secure it using the small side screws (H). Lift the canopy (F) over the mounting strap (B) and secure it using the deco nuts (G) until snug against the ceiling. Install the light bulb (not provided) according to the fixture's specifications.

General Lighting Tips

For optimal lighting, consider layering your lighting with task and ambient sources. Use dimmers to control light output. For kitchen islands, hang fixtures at least 30 inches above the countertop. For dining tables, fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the table and be 12 inches narrower than the table width. In open areas, the bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet from the floor.
